1861 Can't get it working

I've downloaded the Hotfix for Victoria Revolutions but now I can't start the 1861 scenario. It just says =

 ---
Do you still want to continue?

Then I got the alternatives =

"Abort"
"Retry"
"Ignore"


Anyone recognize the problem or is it unhelpable?

Deleted the hotfix but still does'nt work

IIRC, the problem is that the vanilla Rhône-Alps file in Revolutions is written without the accent, but the 1861 scenario searches for a file with the accent. It should be fixable by downloading the latest hotfix or by patching Vicky to 1.4 before installing Revolutions. Are you absolutely certain you got the latest fixes (and not the VIP fixes which are also in OHgamer's sig)?

install OHgamer's hotfix things. itll work. i had that problem once before. i downloaded his hotfix thing and it workd.

Are you sure you installed the latest version of the hotfix (#6) and installed it correctly? That error happens in Revolutions without hotfixes if you don't install 1.04 before Rev; with the latest hotfix it shouldn't happen.

Something that people sometimes do is to download the hotfix but then they don't actually run the executable hotfix. They simply copy the one file into the Victoria directory and think that they have installed the hotfix. I suppose it's not always apparent that the hotfix is an executable program.

I'm not saying that you did that. I just know that a few folks have.

Anyway, you saying that you deleted the hotfix makes me believe you have done this, because the hotfix is made up of multiple files that wind up going into multiple directories. Those files replace the originals, so you can't simply delete the hotfix without seriously breaking the game.

Does all that make sense?

it is in rar/zip format, so what you have to do is download it to desktop, open it (just click on it) and then copy the contents to their equivalent locations in your Victoria Revolutions files so that the files are overwritten by the files in the rar/zip. It is not an exe so you have to do it yourself manually.
