I think that would've caused a sticky situation for France, what with everyone believing that Austria would be spanking Prussia. If France joined in on Austria's side, then we might have seen Great Britain or Russia trying to ensure that France or Austria didn't get to powerful... So the more France displayed an interest to get involved, the more a number of other nations would display their interest for France NOT to get involved, especially with Napoleon I not all that long ago, and Nappy 3.0 having aspirations of empire.
But, uh, yeah... I like making ahistorical choices. And my pet peeve is the required historical events that are truly as random as the random events (ie, marriages, deaths, etc) that keep popping up, regardless of situation.
