Apart from a NAP originally up to 1600, then extended to 1615, there has been no agreements or pacts betweeen Sweden and Russia. Besides, I doubt the Russians would have been able to do much with their time of troubles right now.

Oh. Besides the gamespanning NAP?

No. There are no dealings between Sweden and Russia.

Don't be so naive

Russia has fared very well from this deal. Maybe even more then Sweden, ok, they raped Denmark and got some baltic provinces. Added that I hate defending a stupid AI that DOWs everyone and seeing Sweden at -3 stab for decades it looks much worse then it is. Taking as much provinces as you can doesn't necessarily mean your getting alot stronger too if you neglect the rest. Besides.. the Time of Trouble is over now...

Yes, the Czar has been a patient man, but just that... patient ;)

You had the chance to defend Denmark while it had a player yet you ignored it. Don't come whining later when you have massive Sweden at your border. :p

The only way Sweden can be a danger to Russia even with its great leaders is if it somehow aquires manpower (*hint* Norway, Denmark, Baltics, Poland *hint*) ;)

Well. This is the game were France and Spain signed a 40 years NAP and where Spain signed W/P with Netherlands in order to annex Portugal... so I don't think Russia-Sweden's NAP is any different from everything else going on.

Austria also signed a 10 year NAP with France that expired 1604.
I would never myself sign a NAP that is longer then 10 years. Many things can happend during that time so it's a big risk to sign such long NAPs.

Then i rather resign a NAP after 10 years if that is needed...

Heh. That's harsh. It's not like Spain and Holland signed a NAP. Don't drag ME into that whole mess.

I merely said that they would not be annexed for now, not that they would be never be annexed.
The Swedish annexation of the German people in Prussia is not tolerated. The Emperor strongly suggest that the Swedes is given this land back to it's true owner, Brandenburg.

It would be very unfortunate if the good understanding between the German and Swedish people will end like this.

I have a suggestion for a game-improvement ( :D ) that I really think is fair.

I've broached the subject with Hive but he's been hesitant. Perhaps because he doesn't want to make it look like he's handing out favours.

The thing I want is a colonial core. Most every other small/midlevel power has some sort of refuge. Portugal has Zanzibar and the Azores. Venice has the islands and can hide behind capital-island.

The Netherlands is the only country small enough to be easily overrun and force-peaced with its cores while its vast colonial holdings makes fighting back quite viable even when the core is overrun.

I'm not suggesting anything unreasonable. Just give me a core on Jakarta.

Yays? Nays?

For any other Dutch player, I'd say yes.. but for you.......

fighting back: that depends ofcourse on the amount of troops you have in the colonies, and the amount of MP you still had, as you won't gain any new (afaik)

That is to say, I'm in favour, so long as it does not mean an overly stubborn "i won't peace" sentiment

A lucky attacker can storm all provinces and force peace before allies have a chance to counter attack. I'm not speaking specifically of France, but you know what I'm talking about. ;)

No, Tonz. I don't trust your warm assurances that you are my eternal friend. :p

And no, the "I won't peace" attitude usually brings more grief than it's worth.

I don't like the concept of colonial cores. The Azores is slightly different because it belonged to Portugal for most of the EUII period (and still does), and because it's populated by "Iberians" irl.

Venice is COMPLETELY different, as all her cores are in Europe. And Venice *was* extremely hard to invade historically, moreso than the feeble Dutchlings. :p

But I'm in a good mood, so I'll offer you a European island core: either Iceland or Sjælland.

Unhappy with that offer? Well I don't mind switching nations, if you think Netherlands are bad off... ;)

The Netherlands *was* extremely difficult to invade historically, due to the very intricate system of dikes and fortifications. Something that is impossible to simulate in EU2.

Not until after the french revolution was the country truly overrun in a meaningful sense.

But fine. Give me a core on Iceland. Perhaps Sweden can be persuaded to part with it for the greater good.
