Just a question? For those that complain about it..

- do you have different nations you rotate between fighting?
- how quickly does the game do 1 year for you at max speed?

In multiplayer, you cannot adjust game speed as you will, and surround me there isn't any proper target.

people need to learn to fight on different countries, and have multiple fronts. Even with 15 year truces, you can perma war. Even with 15 year truce, you can still get target country in a war again after 5 years, if you declare on atheir allies who you gave white peace.

When they are allies and/or in coalitian against you, you will have a truce with your entire neighborhoud. Secondly, I am not playing at max speed, because it reduces the quality of my game. Not very good if you are going for personal achievements.

1. Yes, and that is the main reason for my complaints. I do not like being forced to fight multiple neighbours for expansion because it kills immersion and narrows down the ways I could play. I want to focus fighting against my rival.

2. about 30 seconds. Not that it matters because I'm not complaining about the real waiting time.

I love dynamic truces, but outside of the early/early mid game (1600-1650 max), 15 year truces frequently lead to a situation where you have no viable targets, at least in SP. Lowering them to 10-12 years pushes that to around 1750, which is pretty good.

It's an inner joke, isn't it?
Because by 1600 I usually have a list of truce pending so long that is difficult to read. I have truces with countries I barely know of lost in some corner of the world :)
You'd need either to make them sortable in some way or make a new specific map.

It's like an author putting boring parts into his book, then asking the readers how fast they can skip through the boring parts. Because if the readers can skip-read fast enough, then the boring parts are not deemed a problem?

Some nations don't really have the option to rotate who they're fighting, Mongolia for example is really weak at the start and has a bunch of strong countries around it, so you'd mostly want to fight just the weakest one (who is still stronger than you are.)

15 year Truce timer with Russia is insane. They take more new land in that time than what you chop off in the peace.

But we all know this was a developer loosing in MP so it was decided upon to have bizarre truces. Just deal with it and truce break if you really need it. Its stupid, but its not the end of the world.

1) Yes, within reason of course, I mean I'm not strictly sure rotating wars actually make sense in any real fashion. But most of the time all of your feasible neighbours are on a truce of some sort anyway, or are obviously larger early game and so you wouldn't want to fight them at that time anyway.
2) I play on 2-3 speed almost all the time. Go onto max speed rarely and I'm not quite how the question is relevant. But fairly quickly allowing for however long autosaving takes.

I always try to rotate fronts, but with some nations (Scotland, Manchu, Korea, to name a few) it's frankly not possible.

How many meaningful nations (not quick annexation Irish OPMs) does Scotland have to rotate between fighting?

How many nations does Korea have to rotate between fighting?

How many nations does Novgorod have to rotate between fighting?

How quickly does my laundry get dried? Last I checked, it was faster than 15 game years of staring at the map.

I am just going to echo what is said, in that you should not be required to attack on multiple fronts in order to avoid bordom. It is stupid and not viable for a large number of countries.

But we all know this was a developer loosing in MP so it was decided upon to have bizarre truces.

I have been saying for a long time that EU4 is being balanced around the dev multiplayer sessions.

I think 10-12 would be a better waiting time. In Single Player you really don't always have neighbors since after 1600-ish you defeat almost everyone except for a select few in a year and then it is just waiting for occupation. 10-12 would give a nice balance between the old 5 years and the new 15 year truces. Also is really sucks when your ally calls you in a war and then you cant' war your neighbor because there is a truce up and running.

Just a question? For those that complain about it..

- do you have different nations you rotate between fighting?
- how quickly does the game do 1 year for you at max speed?
I can answer the second question.Well kinda slower than most. Which is why it becomes like a waiting game after some time and I find 15 years a bit too much as well. In MP the fastest I can get to is 2 or 3 bars sadly due to connection :/

Well, anyway It wouldn't matter as much for me since I've already changed them in files and play MP/ Ironman rarely

You should just make truce lengths negotiable in the peace deal.

Asking people how quickly the game goes through a year is like asking "how bad is the effect of my poor decision?" Even if the player can snap his fingers and skip to the end of the truce, it doesn't make it good that truces scale with warscore.

1. Sometimes... depending on the situation.
2. About 4 minutes. Waiting down a 15 year coalition truce is basically a very boring hour of Progress Quest (i.e. coring and missionary work).
