1453 Annus Horriblis
An experimental Domos Potestatem MP AAR

Welcome readers and fellow players!

The idea behind this experimental aar is a reward system that encourages players to write aar chapters between sessions.
The Domos Potestatem #5 campaign is starting the coming thursday at 22.00 cest

http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?685741-quot-Domos-Potestatem-V-quot-%97-Thursdays-22-00-CET&p=15396697&viewfull=1#post15396697

I do not know yet if this will work well, or what the rewards will be yet.
Im thinking rewards that will truly encourage aar writing and pictures wthout changing the game balance significantly.
Also, perhaps the chapter that gets the most "comments/quotes" every week gets a double reward?

Please come forward with ideas/advice on this.

The game starts in 1453, just after the fall of Byzants.

The player list is as follows:

THE INDEPENDENCE OF THE SLAVS

Polish+Winged+Husaria.jpg

The Polish. A proud people. A pure people. A powerful people. The time for Polish domination is ripe in the year of our lord 1453. The Ottomans have had limited expansions, the Austrians have spent too long squabbling with the Bohemians and the Golden Horde, the final threat of Mongol Invasion, has collapsed. Our Union with the Lithuanians, the all-important connection between the powers of the East and West, remains as strong as it ever has and hopefully will. The other nations prepare themselves. The Russians massing to the east, preparing to take back their 'precious homeland'. The Teutons to the north, flouting their independence in lands once owned by us. The Austrians and the Germans to the west, fighting each other for scraps of the Holy Roman Empire. The Turk to the south, the destroyer of the once great Byzantines, the flower of the east. The time of the old empires is over. Now is the time for the new. They will try to expand into our land, claiming sovereignty over our people but they are not as prepared as they think they are. They think the death of the Golden Horde and the Timurids has ended such eastern threats. Arrogance and pride will be their downfall. The Mongol Horde may have failed but the Slavs are coming. We shall sweep west, crushing their armies beneath our boots and our horses hooves. The winged hussars will cut their lumbering knights down and our catapults will smash their high walls. For in this age of war, you either rise....or fall.

A Burdensome Heritage part 01

vbth3OS.gif

Kremlin, Moscow, 29th May 1453.

Grand Prince Vasily II was sitting in one of his favourite halls engulfed by his thoughts. The hall itself was on the South-Eastern part of the fort, high above the ground on the fourth floor of a bastion erected on a small hill. Vasily liked this modest room because from here he could hear the gentle roaming of the River Moskva and it always filled him with some kind of a calm satisfaction.

It had been 7 years since he was blinded by his own nephew and from that moment on no earthly activities held him much pleasure other than sitting in this small hall and listening to the distant sounds of the river.

However the sounds were different today. There was a certain disharmony in them - it was like the screaming of thousands of innocents, women and children mixed together. Innocents being slaughtered by ruthless demons, enemies of Christianity. Vasily did not like the sound at all as he knew all to well what they meant but he remained in the open window nonetheless as he had been thinking on matters of the Grand Duchy all day and the fresh air helped his thoughts become clear.

It was more than seven decades now since his grandfather, Grand Prince Dimitry crushed the Tatar armies at the Kulikovo Field and now even the once mighty Golden Horde was nothing more than a bad memory - but the Tatar grip on Muscovy was still strong and the Khan of Kazan sent his envoys every year to gather the tribute from the people of the Grand Duchy. It was the only goal of Vasily in all his life: to repel the Tatars, to won a victory over them that would make him a true heir to his grandfather's legacy but he also knew that the time has not come yet. The Tatars of Kazan could field an army three times the size that of Muscovy's and against that... horde Vasily could not hope to triumph alone. He needed either distraction or some internal struggle within the Khanate itself to be able to get rid of the shameful tribute that had been a stigma on his reign in all his years - or at least that is how he felt all the time.

The distraction could came from either the north or the south - both the Prince of Novgorod and the Khan of Crimea were enemies to the Khan of Kazan but Vasily also knew that the coward Novgorodians would never pick a fight with the Tatars when they can buy peace on ducats. They were no true people of the Rus anymore. They were more like the Swedish and German merchants they were doing business with and they preferred shadowy plots and politics over a manly fight all the time.

The Crimeans however were a different kind. They were Tatars too but Khan Haci held little love for their brothers since he had broken off from the Horde some 10 years ago. Vasily also knew that Haci would die a horrible death in the hands of the Kazani Tatars a thousand times before he would pay a ducat tribute to them but since the Crimeans lacked both the money and the manpower of their Kazani brethren it seemed rather unlikely that alone they could do enough damage to them soon and let Vasily deliver the final blow. And of course there were the Polish...

They were heretics and they always tried to interfere with the business of the people of the Rus. Some tongues in the shadow even claimed that they were seeking alliance with the Novgorodians to challenge the undisputed authority of Muscovy but Vasily never truly believed in these whispers. In fact he had had a brief meeting with King Casimir recently and they agreed not to intervene in the matters of each other as long as they are not threatened directly by a third power. King Casimir even had plans about the Tatars, plans which did appeal to Vasily as well but at that moment he could not really tell if they were going to end up good or bad.

Either way it was clear for Vasily that the days of silence were coming to an end soon and the days of war-cries would replace them even sooner. And he did not need the silent screams of his beloved river to be sure about that. He had been Grand Prince of Muscovy for nearly three decades now and his instincts were rarely wrong.

Vasily stood up from his simple wooden chair, closed the window and then left the lonely hall alone again to meet Metropolitan Jonah and tell him to prepare for important changes in his office - as it was unknown to both of them yet but the wheel of history was turning with a sound squeak in that very moment. But it was something that Vasily felt in his guts as the feeling sent shivers down his spine. Only the streams of the River Moskva, just outside the window, remained silent. For now at least...

THE INDEPENDENCE OF THE SLAVS:THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM

Wawel Castle, Wawel, Krakow

poland_krakow_wawel_painting.jpg

King Casimir IV of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania mused over the map presented to him by his aides. The map showed the vast provinces controlled by his nation, and his vassals the Duchy of Mazovia and the Duchy of Moldavia. Having only just recently acquired the throne, after the death of his brother Wladyslaw at the Battle of Varna in 1444. This Battle had been the death of not just his brother but any Polish attempts to move into the Hungarian throne. The south was therefore a dangerous place for expansion and not worth considering until a base of power had been established to deal with the accursed Turks and the vile Austrians. The west was also too carefully watched for any sudden movements, as the Austrians, may the Lord strike them down for their arrogance, were busy attempting to unite all of Germany, claiming Slavic Bohemia as part of their fiefdom. The Germans, most notably the Kingdom of Brandenburg, also had eyes on the weakened Bohemian state. Only time would tell if the Bohemians would be brought back into the fold.

Ubran_II_Propsing_crusade.jpg

Taking out his knife that he always carried, for protection and for eating, Casimir cut off the western and southern parts of the map and flung them on the floor. The Voivode of Lithuania moved in and picked them up, glancing at them briefly before speaking. "Your grace, are you sure leaving the areas of Bohemia and Hungary for now is wise? We have made it our policy to try and protect our brethren over the past decade..."Turning swiftly and grabbing the map pieces out of the Voivodes hands, Casimir threw them this time into the large fire in the Stateroom. Turning back to the map on the table, he began to speak in a low voice to the assembled lords. "Our attempts to save our brothers have failed. We have lost prestige and we have lost power in the eyes of the other nations because of our mistakes. The battle of Varna..." Here the King paused, looking towards the fireplace as he remembered descriptions of the battle and the aftermath," Was a complete disgrace. My brother was foolish and rash, brave some may call it, and his charge at the Janissaries may have worked. See where his bravery got him though. Dead. Killed by the Sultans Guards and his head cut off. Then the bloody Turks go ahead and show his head around the court, like a trophy or tournament prize. That was the price of our interventions in slavic territory." The Lords are all looking down at the ground, none willing to face the King, whose seething anger can be felt beneath his calm voice. The Voivode moves forward and begins to speak, only for the king to cut him off. "I promise you my lords. The Turks and the Austrians will pay, for their crimes in the death of my brother. The Austrians will pay for their cowardice, in not coming to Wladyslaws aid. We cannot have our revenge yet though. We must expand and become powerful once more." Turning to the table, he invites the Voivode, the two Dukes and the main Lord of Poland to sit with him.

4%2Bmedieval%2Bprofessors.jpg

"See here. The Crimean Khaganate, weak and defenceless. Removing them will provide us with both vital land and with access to the black sea. And over here, the Teutonic Knights. The efforts to curb their power may have failed before, but now they are far weaker then they have ever been, and it is certainly time to reclaim the land we gave to them. Finally the north. Moscow and Novgorod. I have talked with the Grand Duke myself, and he seems to understand that neither of us can afford to war with the other. A solidified border with the Russians would provide us with ample room to grow in the Ukraine and in the Baltics." The Duke of Moldavia nods his agreement with the plan laid out by the King, hoping that expansions in the Crimea will mean one less border for his troops to be concerned about. The other lords also begin to nod their heads as well, all apart from the Duke of Mazovia, who points out something of interest on the map. "Where is my duchy? Here is Moldavia, here is Lithuania, but there is no Mazovia as far as i can see." Casimir turned to look at the Duke before putting his hand down on the map at the city of Warsaw. "Thats because the Duchy of Mazovia will not be around long enough for it to be worth putting on here. I rather like this city here. I feel it would make a fine capital." The duke leapt out of his chair and began to draw his sword, crying out an obscenity at the King. He stopped suddenly when he felt the blades of two of the Kings elite Winged Hussars on his neck, and re-sheathed his blade. "The people of Mazovia would not stand for such an arrangement!" He exclaimed, a nervous look in his eyes as he looked around the table. Casimir sighed, standing up and putting his hand on the shoulder of the Duke. "Boleslaw, i know that you only swapped sides during the dispute over the King of Poland because of Frederick II. I know that you opposed me as King, seeking the title for yourself. Your loyalty though, has earned you certain entitlements, and im willing to give you the permanent Voivodeship over Mazovia, as long as you mediate it being brought into Poland." Looking into the eyes of his King, Boleslaw knew that he had lost. Forcing a smile, he grabbed the Kings shoulder as well, exclaiming out loud. "Of course i will help you, my grace. I was merely suprised at the news, having such little time to react. The Mazovian people will of course be brought into Polish control as soon as physically possible." Both of the men re-seated themselves, as the other lords relaxed at the lack of hostility. The discussions on the details of the plan began in earnest now, as the preparation for the coming age of war began.

A Tale From Khorasan

Chapter 1: Lagacy of the Khans

th

The Story of Khorasan doesn't begin in 1453, but in 1200 A.D. when the great Genghis Khan began to conquer his way to create the greatest empire the world has ever seen. This empire spanned for the pacific coast of Asia all the way to the lands of the Ukraine. The Mongols conquered Persia, China and much of India. Their expansionist run came to a halt in the Levant as the Mamluks gave a decisive blow to the invaders. The Mongols were never able to recover as they soon fell into a succession crisis and eventually, the empire was split into a handful of successor states. One of these was eventually led by the great conqueror, Khan Timur the Lame. He soon built an empire roughly spanning the current modern states of Iran, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. However in the year 1405 of the Christian calender, Timur passed away and the vultures were already out for the title as the next Khan. Although the successors of Timur managed to keep the empire from falling apart, however, in 50 years time the collapse of the once mighty empire built by Timur would be cut into 3 nations.

Tamerlan.jpg

Timur the Lame, Khan of the Timurid Empire (1336-1405)

May 29, 1453

After establishing himself comfortably as Sultan of Khorasan for 5 years after the Great Division of the Timurids, Bakur Ibn-Baysunkur looked at the other two nations of the split: Qara Koyunlu to the west ( who were actually Azerbaijanis who swept through Persia), and the Uzbeks and Turkmens Nomadic Tribes to the north who still claimed to be the rightful successors to the Timurid Dynasty. Bakur Ibn-Baysunkur chuckled at these claims as he knew that he was the great-grandson of Timur the Lame and thus, the title of Khan ought to be his.

But during these 5 crucial years of since the establishment of the Sultanate of Khorasan, Bakur Ibn-Baysunkur led his nation through a rapid movement of modernization influenced by the great Muslim nations of the time such as the Ottomans, Morocco and the Mamluks. The country soon became a technological leader in the world and Bakur Ibn-Baysunkur so set out to drastically reform his government.

"To Succeed", Proclaimed the Sultan. " We must be seen as a leader of the world, not just savage hordes. From this day forth, I will no longer be Khan Bakur Ibn-Baysunkur, but instead I shall be Sultan Bakur Ibn-Baysunkur Timurid of Khorasan.

The news soon reached Qara Koyunlu and the so-called Timurids of the radical changes the their mutual neighbor and they plotted together a partition of the upstarts in Khorasan. In Samarkand, the long time capital of the once great Timurid Empire, Khan Jahan Shah of Qara Koyunly and Khan 'Abd Allah Mirzi of the Timurids finalized their deal on the obliteration of Khorasan.
"Alright, so let's read this over again, I'll lead by horsemen along the south by the coast and you, 'Abd Allah Mirzi, will strike directly south and occupy the northern half of Khorasan. Understood?", queried Johan Shah.
The Timurid leader quickly replied, " It is perfectly understood! ON TO CRUSHING VICTORY!!! HAHAHA!!"
image190.jpg

Many elephant rides away in Khorasan, Bakur Ibn-Baysunkur was informed by one of his most skilled and reliable spies, Ahmad Rahimi, of the impending invasion by his vengeful neighbors. "Let them come if they dare... for there will be no dawn for the hordes..."
As he finished his sentence, Ahmad Rahimi burst into the palace and startles the Sultan and some of the court.
"They're Here"

keep it coming guys, will be interesting to see how things work out for you with a different start date, the 1453 start was probably even more well balanced back in the day when it was the earliest one available

Why aragon instead of castille? Most usally play it the other way. (presuming you want to form spain).

I just think it's an interesting choice. Interesting being a main factor in forming this game from 1453.
Also I have played Castille numerous times already, but never Aragon. Time will show us if it was a good choice or not...

Chapter one:
The Land of the Crescent
(May 29, 1453 by the calender of the infidel)

SluxoVh.jpg

The young Sultan, Mehmed II, stepped over the copses of his fallen enemies as he solemnly entered the City of the World's Desire. Somewhere among the dead lay the last roman emperor, Constantine XI, broken like the Empire he had ruled. In death he may have escaped the Sultan, but his city would not. The Ottoman army had already begun to loot and pillage the great estates of Byzan and he knew well not to restrain them in their greedy frenzy. “This,” he thought, “will be my new Capital, but today my men are its masters.”

fcJSHz8.jpg

Lifting his face towards heaven and God, he beheld the solar eclipse hanging over the mighty structure of Hagia Sophia. It had revealed itself a week before and had lingered, heralding the Fall of New Rome and the Rise of the Old Turkish tribes. Now its splendour was fading but its crescent shape would soon be replaced by that of the white Crecent Moon, the standard of the Ottomans, wavering in the cold Boreas. As God, creator, sustainer, ordainer, and judge of the universe, had decreed by this sign, the line of Osman would endure and conquer the world in his name.

In the West, the armies of the Sultan were already massing on the borders of Serbia and Albania, brought there by the insolence of John Hunyadi and the misplaced zeal of the Christian infidels. The Holy Roman Emperor Ladislaus had declared hostility in his capacity of King of Hungery, but not as Archduke of Austria. Though the Ottomans held suzerainty of the dukedom of Wallachia, they were likewise in never-ceasing contempt of Turkish supremacy. Needless to say, Mehmed II knew that he needed to restore order to the turbulent Balkans.

In the East lay the vast expanse of Anatolia with its Turkish tribes longing for union with their Osman brethren. Still beyond lay the Lands of the Arabs, fractured since the days of the Caliphates. The Sultan, once more gazing upon the crescent in the sky, knew that it was his duty restore the Muslim homeland to its glory. Beyond that realm, he knew not what the world contained, but for the whispers of a distant Sultanate ruled by a strange mixture of noble Persians and vile Mongols under the sway of a dissident branch of the Islamic Faith. He urged Sükrüllah, the chief diplomat and historian of the Turkish court, to dispatch an envoy to this land, so that he may know more of these men -- and how they may be returned to the true Sunni doctrine.

With patience and by the will of God, great works will be done in every matter, step by step."

A brief introduction to the House of Trastámara, Aragon

alfonsovelmagnanimo.jpg

First let me introduce myself; I am Alfonso V of House of Trastámara. King of Aragon, Valencia, Naples, Majorca and Sicily and count of Barcelona. Son of Ferdinand I and Eleanor of Alburquerque.

I was already 58 years of age when the olde city of Byzans fell to the Ottoman turks. T’was a most horrible time for the eastern Christendom. It was at that time I had my awakening and decided to leave a greater legacy for my little brother. My health was poor, several decades of traveling and wars makes even a King feel olde.

Our galleys and troops have lost to the Milanese, defeated the Genovese, bribed the Papal armies and succeeded in conquering Naples to be ruled by the King of Aragon. With the Ottoman conquest of Byzans Anno Domino 1453, it was agreed that something needed to be done to strenghten Aragon's position in the mediterranean and possibly elsewhere.

An envoy to the east

300pxconstantinople1453.jpg

Joan, my little brother was sent in march of 1453 to see the Emperor of the Byzantine Empire.
Instead of meeting Emperor Constantine XI, he came to a city under siege of the Ottoman forces.
The Ottomans had brought with them the largest cannons ever made, and Joan witnessed them in action while spectating the terrible siege.

Talks were held with representatives of the Ottoman sultan Mehmed II, a proud young man.
Several matters were discussed as Joan quickly understood that the Ottomans were on the rise.
Not many answers were brought home, but Joan had the impression the Ottomans would settle in their new city should the siege succeed.
It did, before Joan was back in Naples - Byzans had surrendered to the turks.

It was clear at the time that the Ottomans had to be watched carefully.

Here is a musical piece in respect of the fallen empire.
Byzantine refugees now spreading over Europe will always be welcome in the kingdom of Aragon

the broken one

54 years did nothing but good to burgundy, it has taken rich parts of the netherlands and managed to become a great power in the west, its economy is by far the best in the world only by tax and production, not to forget that +2 FT slider it begins with and ridicolous MP and FL.

burgundy is strong, possibly the strongest nation in this world, yet its position is one of the most trickiest positions if not the most tricky position in this start, burgundy has france in the west, holding cores on some of its richest land, to the north-west it has england, possibly a dangerous enemy with its fleet, and to the east it has the holy roman empire-while burgundy is supposed to be the wall between the french and he german, the austrian emperor might grow envy of burgundy's wealth and power, and decide it to be a threat that has to be annihilited.

while burgundy does start with higher manpower and force limit then france and austria, both start with a larger army and can land a fatal blow on burgundy before it can raise its men, by that dealing a fatal blow to it. so while burgundy is strong, duke nitman the 69th would have to do some carefull diplomacy in order to survive the first years and compromise on some agreement in order to not bring the burgundian story to an early end

This AAR hurt me physically.

NOOOOO!!!!! My eyes are burning after looking at that aar.

Österreich ist das Größte Reich

On a warm beautiful spring day in the year 1453 the young thirteen year old Ladislaus Postumus von Habsburg was studying the map of Europa yet again. This was a daily practice for Ladislaus, it reminded him of his importance as supreme leader of Österreich and Ungarn. Wasn’t it gorgeous he thought, the great countries of Österreich and Ungarn as centre of Europa with everything else evolving around it.

After the death of his great father Albert II, the throne of Ungarn was lost to the evil Jagiełło dynasty of Polen. This was clearly an illegitimate claim as Ladislaus was crowned as König von Ungarn at just 82 days of age at the famous Saint Stephen Cathedral in Stuhlweißenburg.

kep133_zps6c1537b5.jpg

Nevertheless, the crown of Ungarn remained under polnische control until the battle of Warna in 1444. The death of Władysław III during the battle of Warna and the subsequent transfer of the ungarische crown to Ladislaus was obviously a sign that the lord favoured him. Ladislaus life was clearly unfolding well, but he wanted more, he wanted his power to spread all over Europa. And with the Kaiser of the Heiliges Römisches Reich title in his family, Ladislaus would be able to field the massive armies needed for expansion.

There were problems looming in the south though, where Ungarn and its vassal state Siebenbürgen were the victims of osmanische aggression. Despite being up against the strong osmanische armies, the estates of Ungarn were too proud to ask for help of Österreich. Normally, Ladislau wouldn’t care so much about a poor vassal only capable of producing wool, but Siebenbürgen was different. Different because of all the wonderful castles and towns constructed by knights of the Deutscher Orden, built as a defense against the Osmanisches Reich.

castles1240_zpsffd92761.jpg

In order to beat the superior osmanische military with their Musellem Cavalry and Azab Infantry, expansion of Österreich was definitely required, Ladislaus thought. But where to expand? Into the hills of Böhmen on which he had a claim? Into the mountainous country of Schweiz? Into the fertile plains of Brandenburg? Into the slawische countries to the east? Or into the rich Merchant Republics of Genua and Venedig? Enough options…

A few days later his most trusted advisor came to him with tales describing the situation in Polen and Moskau. Ladislaus wasn’t interested in wasting any time by reading these tales, but his advisor kept insisting on how important it is to know your enemies. While Ladislaus disagreed on this, he started reading just to keep the advisor off his back. Well, that was a waste of my time, Ladislaus thought when he was finished reading. According to Ladislaus, it was all nothing more than boring stories about the misplaced pride of Polen with their backwards technology, and about Großfürst Vasily II of Moskau, who clearly has gone insane since he is listening to a river. The sound of battle is what counts, not the sound of a river!

Later even more tales reached Ladislaus, mainly about Muslim countries far away in the east. But isn’t it clear to everyone that constructing these tales is pointless, Ladislaus thought. Isn’t it clear that the House of Habsburg will marry, conquer and inherit? Isn’t it clear to all that there will be…Habsburg Dominance!

Game starting soon, so any people who are lurking following this, cos they love reading 8 AARs at the same damn time, we should have a massive amount of real Chapter Ones coming in the next :D hope everyone is as excited as i am :D

everybody hates burgundy

burgundy didnt even get to taste the peace, france has wisely attacked burgundy on the first day and burgundy quickly started raising all the infantry it could, while hiding its existing 15k stack. france then went to look for the stack but going through the burgundian land did not fair with them and burgundy started pushing them backwards with its stack while adding more and more infantry to it, it came to the point where the burgundian army became stronger then the french, and burgundy was winning after assaulting some of the most important france provinces and cutting france off from a very large manpower and force limit supply, while dealing deadly war exhaustion to them.

http://i39.tinypic.com/qrch9k.jpg

burgundy was overjoyed as the assaultee became the assaulter and things looked bright for a change, after annihiliting about third of the french army and sending the rest to lick their wounds burgundy couldnt have felt better sending the cockiest message of "who wants to join the winning side", but then that happened:

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/w680/shpitz3/EU3_7_zps6d455173.png

yep, player aragon joined the war "that doesnt matter" said the successfull burgundians, continuing the assault of france, aragon and just stood there threatning the brave burgundians who were not afraid of anything, until a new surprising ally joined the growing coalition.

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/w680/shpitz3/EU3_8_zpsb926d58a.png
http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/w680/shpitz3/EU3_9_zpsac0c3875.png

"but austria, we thought we were all good between our nations! we couldve gave you so much money!" cried the burgundian leader after the emperor joined, the austrian troops were fresh abd gad a lot of manpower support unharmed, after making an attempt to to defend itself, burgundy realised it was over for it and accepted humiliating terms to keep its people alive ceceding 4 provinces.

http://s1335.photobucket.com/user/shpitz3/media/EU3_10_zps7db3bfbc.png.html?sort=3&o=1

burgundy was not ready to give up yet, swiftly it declared war on bar to reclaim its cores, bar then called lorraine savoy liege and friestland, burgundy vassalized lorraine because of its mission, while annex bar friestland and liege to regain some force limit, those annexations were successfull while not cheap and made burgundy stronger then ever before. while that happened the burgundian diplomats tried to talk to the emperor's messengers to understand what happened, and to make him switch sides

http://s1335.photobucket.com/user/shpitz3/media/EU3_11_zpsd875fa37.png.html?sort=3&o=0

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/w680/shpitz3/EU3_12_zps15db90c2.png

as the truce was about to end, burgundy prepared for another war, this time without austria who agreed to keep out, while austria's alliance was still intact and could have not been canceled while they were at war burgundy decided to proceed anyway.

when france attacked provence for its cores, burgundy declared war and swiftly got its army in france, as of in the last war, assaulting some key provinces. the burgundian were surprised to find a big, swift french resistance lead by the shockingly shocking(6 shock!) french king who prevailed to become an incredible general, with france pushing it back and with the austrian vassals at its back, burgundy gave in to more demands, ceding 3 provinces this time(this screen was taken after the surrender, while the french went in to take the provinces they needed)

stating that this is all they wish, and that they could give burgundy a time of peace, the french went to deal with their own buisness, while burgundy was trying to recover. burgundy kept a large standing army while making plans of converting the colture to dutch, and forming the netherland. as of now burgundy's economy is average, its tech is pretty good, and its army is very nice. so while the nation did suffer a lot this session, its far from dead or giving up.
