Fine, i just think that the random leader generator is way to unequal and "unfair" somehow. I mean how fun is it to get general after general with a nation like Portugal? They have no bigger use for them but Admirals would be much better. I think the Naval/land slider should affect the chances to get an admiral or an general. The same for explorers and conq.
I could only imagine how it would be like to get explorer after explorer with russia, when you desperatly need a conquistadore for Siberia :rofl:

Well, that hasn't been a problem for Russia, what with having historical and ahistorical conquistadors.

And how exactly do you think increasing the amount of explorers and conquistadors will change that? Does it matter whether Russia gets 2 explorers or 4 explorers? ;)

It looks like I may have to go out to dinner with all the people in my office next Thursday as our new manager is in the UK for the first time. It would be an extremely bad idea to miss this. Once it's confirmed, I'll post here and look for a sub.

Well, my point was that the random leader generator would generate leaders from the naval/land sliders. So that naval nations have a higher chance to get admirals/explorers and land nations to get generals/conqiustadores.
I really think that something have to be done, one good example here is Portugal, when i played them for about 100years? i almost only got land leaders, two conquistadores, and none explorer. Portugal don't get a shit being naval, they just sit on there island hoping.
The Naval/land sliders loose it's importence in this situation me thinks :)

...as soon as you write me such a program. Untill then, I think I'll just work with what I have.

As to postponing next session... well, if 4 players can't attend - and a 5th player is still on vacation - it doesn't look good... if we'll have one more absentee, cancelling might be a good idea. But I generally swear to "The show must go on"... so let's see how many subs we can wind up.

It is indeed a lot... but it's summer now, I think this is what we can expect... but if the consensus among the players is that we should postpone: then so be it. So let's hear what people think...
