Hi Hmm..., your sub reporting in.

Burgundy is in good shape. I didn't need to mint at all. I built 1 refinery more to Calais. Friesland is now vassal of Burgundy and all electors except Austria and Prussia have very good relations to Burgundy, so it's likely that you become next HRE, if something unexcepted doesn't happen. Trade 4 was researched and after that I put much research on Infra, so you'll soon have Infra 4 too. I spread burgundian traders around the world, so you have 5 merchants in Flanders, Tago and Thrace, monopoly in Novgorod and some traders in Lyonnais. My attempts to improve Centralization were canceled by events, but Aristocracy was lowered by one step and Mercantilism by two steps. Innovativiness was increased by one step. Also there was one war. France annexed Brittany earlier on and late in the session they attacked Burgundy itself, but thanks to two shock 5 leaders and significant cavalry advantage, the french army was defeated on several battles, with much more casualties on their side than burgundian. Then we were attacked by the treacherous austrians, who went to annex our minor ally Franconia. But our glorious leaders defeated the austrians too and in the end they gave Mainz to us directly, but this was big enough distraction to force us to give only White Peace to France. No explorer showed up.

I hope you will be pleased with my performance.

EDIT: Small correction in grammar. :)

I havent seen in-game Burgundy yet Byakhiam, but after reading your report: Damn good job! Those treacherous franco-Austrians.....The burgundian king henceforth bless any ottoman attack on the savage germans!

Burgundy had a leader with 4 shock. You gotta have a hell of a lot of cav to counter that, and neither me nor France was prepared for such a leader...

You don't have to suck. You did an OK job before this session, though taking Muslim provinces you couldn't defend wasn't clever. However, it seems to everyone else in the game that you decided to destroy your country after losing a single war to Venice, where they were lenient and only took three provinces. Combined with dropping halfway through a war, it seems not that you're necessarily a bad player, but that you are an extremely immature player.

Two provinces, not 3. Even more lenient....

ouch... crashing in a war with Benin was bad for my countries health...

3 provinces rebel occupied (2 gold provinces, too :( ) and a bunch of rebels walking around in my country.

about 11k left of the 30k that I had nearby to fight the Beninians, and lost my conquistador :(

two ways to look at this, as far as I can see:

1) the rehost should've been immediate for I was at war (which probably doesn't have too many supporters, afterall, it was just AI)

2) The rehost should've been one year, then Jan.

In case 1), I would most likely NOT have lost the troops OR the conquistador. I might have lost some of the income from provinces besieged by rebels.

In that case, I would like my troops back (~17k inf, ~5k Cav) and my leader returned, with an extra lifespan of approx 3.5-4 years (from my crash to the current date, august (or so) '25 to september '29) and approximately 2.5 years of income from the (gold) provinces (looting lasts only 12 months) amounting to ~12*12*2.5=360 in research income.

Edits, case 1) :
-15k infantry, 5k cavalry spread over the various "Benin" armies (or all in one)
-2k infantry to the army in Algeria (which I didn't get to retreat due to my crash, lost about 2k I THINK in attrition due to venetian sieging/marching)
-Leader returned to duty in the Benin territories with an added lifespan of 3.5-4 years
-360 ducats added to LAND research (which is what I was researching)

In case 2), I would probably have lost some of the troops, but most likely not all, can't judge about the leader, but I'd THINK he had a fair chance of being alive still (say 70%) Income from the provinces is somewhat harder to judge, but it looks like one of the provinces only recently (ie. somewhere in '29) fell to rebels, can't tell about the others, most likely at least a year of income lost compared to rehosting, so about ~12*12= 144 in research income.

Edits in case 2) :
- 7k Inf, 3k Cav returned to Beninian armies
- 2k Inf to Algerian army (Venice started the attack in 1527, So i would've been able to withdraw my army before his sieges began)
- Leader returned with an added lifespan of approx a year (less than the lost time, but he COULD have died in the braindead period)
-144 ducats research income added to LAND research

Lost taxes due to braindead amount to maybe 25-30 ducats or so, hard to calculate.

Zaria would have fallen to Benin regardless of my presence, though I *could* have taken it back perhaps.. but if my leader gets revived, it doesn't change much effectively.

Code:
historicalleader = {
            id = { type = 6 id = 13715 }
            name = "Guerana"
            category = conquistador
            rank = 0
            fire = 5
            shock = 5
            siege = 2
            movement = 4
            startdate = { year = 1518 month = january day = 0 }
            deathdate = { year = 1532 month = april day = 8 }
            }

For some reason, nobody really seemed to notice you crashing. Probably due to our own wars.

Aragon will be compensated, as I have already told Forzaa. I'll have a look at Forzaa's edit suggestions, and decide what to do.

Oh, and is there any chance I can get my explorer back - I lost Corfini in the most strangest circumstances - all I ever has the Disaster, navy lost message, shortly after I had sent him back to Italy to regroup. He sank off the coast of Spain, hardly miles away from anywhere, and I never ever had any attrition messages (and you can't miss those at all, since a million of those pop up at once).

Well since he did die through attrition, I can't see any justification for editing him back. Sorry...

Okay, I've figured it out now - if you check the Jan 1520 savegame, the explorer DOES have a lot of attrition (probably because I merged it with one of the coastal sentry ships as I went out again). However, as soon as I move out of my coastal waters, the attrition figure goes very high - this should trigger the attrition messeage, but it doesn't.

Now, it seems reasonable, being so close to the Italain coast that if the attrition message had kicked in, then i would have saved it. In fact, it works out that you would have to have at least a month's attrition before you could have lost it - certainly doable with 3 weeks lag.

Basically what I'm saying is that I lost the explorer due to a bug rather than not doing something I should have done.

That is not a bug, the reason for the attration was that you splitted navys. And reciving attration messages does not always happen.
I don't know how many ships i lost in this game because of this, and that's mostly because of that i did the same thing as you did when i wared genoa.

navies get attrition BEFORE you get attrition messages, that much is sure, and if a navy was still following orders, you will not get attrition messages (as far as I know you only get those if a navy is doing nothing and has an attrition of 12 months or more, or so)

And now for the controversial part of my edit requests :rolleyes: :

the return of control of Toledo(439) and Gerona(427) from the rebels to me OR at the very least, moving sufficient troops there to commence sieging immediately when the session starts.

I think that's fair enough. But how come I always need to edit your nation for one reason or the other? Damn you... :p

And as for PJL's request: I think Fred and Forzaa arguments well for it to not be edited. If PJL get's his explorer/ships back from this, so should many others... and that would be troublesome.

Oh, and Forzaa you bugger - I already told you to post your editing suggestions in this thread, as I can't be bothered to surf this one several pages back for it. :p

Unfortunately, I cannot accept this - I have lost exploreres before (in other games) and not complained. However I would consider the way I lost it a bug rather than just a mistale. Attrition messages should come up regardless of how the attrition came about. Therefore I would like some compensation for the loss of the explorer in this case.
