16. Colonial Murder (1620-1633)
Georg Wilhelm
Georg Wilhelm's reign didn't started well. Just after 3 months he rose to power, some Swedish new laws and etc, ended with Lübeck Center Of Trade, transfering it to Svealand(Estokolm). However, the trades of Germany were monopolized by Bohemia CoT, while Scandinavia Trade turned Svealand's.

This not disanamated Georg Wilhelm, that improved tax collectors to the few places that haven't, for increase the income. Still in 1620, the heretics in Sudeten were elminated, and new inquistions started in Kleves and Tehuantepec.
Also, the year was most important: A New Brave Man promised explore the New World to the country: Schneidemöhl (aka strange name). He was young and energetic man, very trusted by the margrave. He was set to explorate the Unknown area to North that the American Colonies.
Still in the colonialism area, the first colonists were sent to Senegal, and Neu Berlin was born.
In 1621, some heretics were converted in Atlixco. 3 years after, Kleves was succefully converted and All Continental Brandenburg was Protestant.
In 1625, the bad news: By lack of competition, a second CoT disappears. Nicaragua CoT was no more. This was bringin' a bad reputation to the margrave. The Explorations were good, but just one TP was built. In the other hand, 2 CoTs were lost in 5 years. Furthermore, the core province of Memel wasn't conquered yet.Georg Wilhelm called Schneidemöhl back to Tenochilcan, he would receive the title of Count, since the last one died. After, he would go Explore the territories from East of Rio Grande. This are the explorations by 1625:
To North?
In 1626, Georg Wilhelm finally made a decision: Attack Courland. A totally weak Country, Polish Vassal(not allied tough), small army, and with troubles with Russia. So, in The 6th day of the year of 1626, Brandenburg was at war. 18,000 man were moved to Memel.
The City fell in August with no complications. A gift to state also happens in this month.
In October, however, the biggest event in this 13 years happen: While returning Tenochitlan with 1,200 man ,Schneidemöhl, in Empalme, saw an 8,000-Large Spanish army. This, invocated the Right Of 'Treaty Of Tordesilhas' of killing any stranger in the 'rightfull' Spanish Lands in New World, and attacked Schneidemöhl army. No one survived. Schneidemöhl was executed after the battle. When the news arrived in the Royal Palace, Georg Wilhelm become angry and sad at same time and promised vengeance towards the Spanish, just after Courland 'learns it lesson'.
So, back to the war, Brandenburg's army arrived in Kurland in October, tryin' an unsuccefull assault there. The city just falls in July, and in the first day of August, peace was signed: Memel to Brandenburg.

Now Georg Wilhelm could see the situation to Spain: It was allied with Portugal, making and very strong alliance, concentrating maybe the 2 biggest navies. But Georg Wilhelh decided so to 'make Brandenburg navy in 5 years'. Many ports were concentrated in building the new ships, not more than 1 by port. It was expensive. And time would be necessary. Georg Wilhelm wanted to Conquer the Isles of Cuba, Porto Rico, Jamaica and expell Spanish from the lands from West of Rio Grande and Isthmus. This would turn Central America tottaly to Brandenburg(just Lesser Antilhas would be Franco-Spanish). But many fronts would be necessary to that.
In 1629, Tehuantepec inquistion is succefull, but no other took place, Since money was totally destinaded to the navy. In late 1632, the things get ready: 2 great navies were ready: One would go to Cuba, Other, commanded by Prince Friderich Wilhelm would invade Spain itself. Also, Georg Wilhelm himself would invade Spanish Netherlands. When everything was ready, Brandenburg declared war upon Spain and it allies in 15th May 1633. Georg Wilhelm Knew that the war had to be quickly because the enemy's navy was bigger and could block Brandenburg unloadings both in Spain and in the Colonies.

This Chapter will be divided in two parts. The First one The War,that took place until 1635; and the Second until 1640, when Georg Wilhelm dies. The Part II is smaller and will be posted probably tomorrow.
17a. The Brandenburg-Iberian War
As said before, the war had to be quickly and effective: Brandenburg had 5 armies to 5 fronts.The 2 Major fronts were in Europe, while the other 3 in America.
The Iberian(Main) Front
32,000 man would unload from 36 ships to Bilbao, Cantabria. The Army was commanded by Prince Friedrich Wilhelm, commander of all operations that would take place in Spain. His objective was to quick capture Cantabria and conquer every city until the Spanish Capital, Madrid.
The Low Countries(Margrave's) Front
Commanded by Georg Wilhelm himself, this front had as objective invade and conquer the pratically abandoned lands of Geldre and Friesen.Georg Wilhelm belived in a quick victory there, for contribute to the war score.
The Cuban(after Carribean) Front

Circa 15,000 man would unload in Havan, Cuba, with the objective of quick conquer the main Spanish Island in Carribean. After , the army had as objective invade and conquer other islands.
The Rio Grande Front
3,000 man would invade the Spanish colonies near Rio Grande, quite simple, since the resistance would be probably weak.
Southern Front
9,000 man had as objective capture isthmus and after invade the spanish colonies in South America.
The War Started as expcted: A big boost and severall battles.
In June, Tampico, Friesen, Havana and Cantabria were sieged. In Cantabria, Friderich Wilhelm attemped an assault, succefull. This was the first great victory in the war.
In July, Moron, Leon were reached. The Southern front advanced to Isthmus, but it was reppelled by Spanish Forces. The First Naval took part too: In Florida Straits, the Brandenburg navy was defeated by the Portuguese-Spanish combined navies, having to go to Belize Bay, where another battle happened, but this time with Victory.
In August, The Last Cuban province was captured: Guantanamo. Rio Grande was also reached, after a battle near the River. The TP in Coahuilla was burned.
The Next Month, with the war more 'relaxed', Isthmus was reached, this time with victory, and Spanish TP was also burned.
In October, Spain finally prepares it counter-attack: Starting with trying to break the siege in Leon, tough, Friedrich Wilhelm brilliantly strategy led Brandenburg to victory.However, the army was now just with 17,000 man, and Friedrich ordered that the navy(waiitin' for orders in a French port) had to go back to Germany and brings reinforcement, thus navy made the first European Naval war with Portugal in The Channel in December, being victorious.
Spanish Colonial forces also invade Senegal and capture it; they also invaded the province of Tortuga,but were defeated one monht later by a army that was defending the island.
In opposition, the old Cuban front arrives in Jamaica, also burning the TP.
In November, Friesen is captured and Geldre sieged..
December arrives with the capture of Cartagena, demonstrating that the Southern Front had no more opposition. In The North, the last Spanish colony, Matagorda is captured: The Rio Grande front concluded it operations.
Also, Brandenburg got a conversion of heretics in Yucatan(W. N.* : Hell I have to convert those American provinces, if not they will remain mayan/aztec/zapotec culture(I have 1 of each already protestant).

The Year Of 1634 arrived with surprised: 15,000 portuguese unloaded in Prussia, in hope of defeat Brandenburg by attacking Germany. How wrong they were. Miles to north, on memel, 16,000 Brandenburg were ordered to attack, and obtained victory there in February(just 7.000 of Brandenburg survived).
Leon Fell in January 1634 and Madrid was sieged after a difficult battle, that dizimated more Friedrich's army, then the Spanish 'woke up' and started to raise armies in Iberia.
In April, Spanish armies invade Cantabria in order of recovering it and try to block a possible unloading there, what happened in Late May, when 26,000 Brandenburg army attacked the sieged Bilbao, the spanish were completly defeated.
Also, Curacao and Tocuvo were captured.
In June Tortuga suffers another attack from Spain!
After 13 monhts of war this was the situation:
Main Front:
The Situation was good, 2 provinces captured and 2 sieged, however Spanish were gettin' stronger and was an problem to Friedrich Wilhelm.
Margrave's Front:
Question Of Time. Geldre was fallin' and no chances of a spanish unloading there.
Carribean Front:
The Main difficulties were the naval battles, but longer the war was gettin' more moral the navy was gettin', and with the unloadin' in Puerto Rico, no more invasion were necessary.
Rio Grande Front
No comments necessary, ended withouth problems in December, when Matagorda fell.
Southern Front
The army was goin' even more to East to discover and conquer more Spanish Provinces! No more difficulties after Isthmus

Soon in July, Geldre Fell , ending with the Margrave's front, thus, decided to abandomn the militar carrer after the fall of the city. Georg Wilhelm was the single 'militar' margrave to end with the carreer before dying.
Also, Yaraguay(South America) was reached. When one of much Naval Battle in Carribean ended in Eartly August, Portugal offered peace conditions:
Georg Wilhelm accepted, since he didn't want nothing from Portugal, and with them out, part of Naval Problems were solved.
In September, Spain concretize their offensive in Spain: 20,000 invade Leon and 5,00. In Carribean, 5,000 invade Les Cayes, this being expelled in October.
In November, rebels defeat the Spanish in Leon, weakin' the army.
Castilla falls, and Brandenburg got new maps from South America, Africa and India: The End Of The War was near.
In January, Extremadura is sieged, and Brandenburg got it new conquistador: Moltke, that would do nothing until war's end
One Month Later, Spain tries it final attack in Extremadura, not succefull.
Georg Wilhelm, offered peace, and in 21th February 1635 , the famous Treaty Of Badajoz was signed: Spain had to give up the colonies in Cuba and Tampico(plus the others TP, burned and most re-colonized by Brandenburg), had to give up also Geldre and Friesen, ending with the Spanish influence in Netherlands. Spain promised also to "Not Colonize or invade all lands South to Rio Grande, North Of Cartagena, or Greater Antilhas(The Isle Of Dominica, lesser antillhas was permited to stay Spanish).
Here go Central America after the war: The Blue Line marks the Limit of Brandenburg's rightfully claims in America that Spanish could not touch.
