Skimmed through archives but did not find any suggestion fitting my setup


I am playing HoI (patch 1.05 Italian) as Italy and on 00 of 13 December 1943 the game slows down, the clock simply stops while the mouse is still working. I have opened the task manager but only application running is HoI. Antivirus is off.

I did not install any further patch because the only I could find in Italian was patch 1.05.

By the way I was in the process of invading Portugal while playing a great campaign, therefore I would keep on playing this game.

The patch works for all versions. No new text was added...

The problems with lockdowns that I have had have been resolved by patches and made it possible for me to play on, so I'd say that with all likelihood you'll be able to play on

1.05 is unplayable because of the freeze bug.

AFAIK there is no other option than to start a new campaign in 1.06. Sorry.

The freeze is due to an event IIRC, as soon as you install the patch and start the game again the new event files will be read and the error not occur.

So try with a save from a few days earlier and all should be fine..

The patch works for all versions. No new text was added...

Yes, new text was added; installing 1.06 will make your game English regardless of it's original language. If you want non-English text you will need to find a user-created translation of text.csv.

By the way, I can confirm that the language has changed from Italian to English, but luckily this is not a problem
