Rebelling faction members getting volunteer troops isn't the problem, no. Those volunteering peasants coming in ludicrous numbers of heavy infantry that somehow manage to survive in the wilderness as well as the Mongols? That is your bug right there.

It still seems like it's less of a bug and more of an oversight about the consequences of almost every faction getting these. It works well enough for smaller realms but when combined with the fact that the rebel doomstacks steamrolling 5-10 provinces is a victory it makes putting down even small revolts impossible for a large empire because that can be achieved before a large empire has a chance to marshal its forces. Clearly it needs to be changed, but I see no reason to call it a bug.

It is ridiculous.

Just come off two big wars. A crusade for Sicily plus a Holy War (I had to fight these both at once as the pope decided to call the Crusade just after I had declared this Holy War). I have also been helping the mother of my current ruler in several wars that she seemed to be struggling with which is in my best interest as she is the queen of Georgia and I am her heir.

Now I am quite a bit weaker than normal, I can raise around a 200k army instead of my max total of around 450k or so. It's just a couple of Dukes pushing a claim for my sister on my Empire though, and even with my smaller army I figured that I would be able to crush this rebellion easily since their armies were pathetically small. That was untill I got the 'peasants have flocked to the banner' or whatever it is event. Suddenly they have a doomstack of 221k. What the hell? That's retarded. I can't see how I'm going to win this war now.

I guess I'll have to try assassinating my way out of this mess.

While I agree this is something that needs to be fixed (at the very least make them suffer attrition), and thus, calling it to the attention of the developers via the forum is a good idea. To anyone who just doesn't want to have to deal with hundreds of thousands of peasants spawned from the pits of hell that feed off of the nightmares of the nobility, just disable the damn event.

I'm guessing that quite a few of the complainers are also from multiplayer, where disabling events willy nilly tends to fail and get annoying when the games stretch across multiple updates.
