I have fought tooth and nail as France to get 100% war score against Austria so that I could take a couple of core provinces, Cambray and Barrois, and perhaps a couple of other provinces with French culture.

But with a 100% warscore I have a -1000 value in negotiations due to my demands being "unreasonable". Even if I don't ask for a single province I can't win the war. I can only white peace?

Any idea why this would be? Seems broken.

For what it's worth, I started the campaign without Art of War installed, and installed that some time prior to this war beginning.

You can't even demand them to Concede Defeat with 100% WS? Post a screenshot pls.

What? I'm not trying to get OVER 100%. I'm currently AT 100%. I understand that I can't get more, and nor should it be necessary.

Recap: I won the war, but Austria won't accept any demands. I have this -1000 unreasonable demands note in the peace negotiations screen, and apparently the only war to end the war is to white peace out. I'm trying to understand if this is a bug or some strange feature related to Austria/HRE.

Hmm, resolution is getting lowered. Hard to read. Try the direct link instead: http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/50991810579556728/1291EE4BA633C7655DA01C34E86CBC3AE46B605C/

Crap... didn't know I couldn't add expansions mid campaign. I'm sure I've done it with CK2 w/o issue.

A warning would have been nice before I loaded my game. Hmm. Hopefully I can turn it back off. I just wanted to be able to upgrade my fleets. Only reason I got AoW.

Okay, well, I didn't even have to unclick anything. I simply killed the game and relaunched it, and could immediately negotiate peace. Minor glitch perhaps?

Thanks for the help guys! The game can continue.

You may have added vassalage then never unticked it. Reloading probably reset the peace deal and unticked it for you.

Yes, could be that I ticked it inadvertently.

So, I got my victory and took 7 provinces from Austria. Now due to overextension half of Europe has created a military coalition against me! :p

Happily, I don't plan to do any expansion in Europe for a good long while. It's about the colonies now. Not sure I'll expand much in Europe period, but it would be nice to get the rest of the French provinces under my control.

Well, it worked out well overall, and I mostly had things stabilized.

Until...

England declared a coalition war against me. I have a total of 19 countries attacking me now, including heavy hitters like England, Austria, Hungary, and Portugal. I have my 3 vassals, 1 colonial nation, Spain (thank god I allied with them) and Scotland.

Of all of these I actually have the best navy, and am doing very well in the water. My big concern is all the descending land forces. My continental force is 80,000 strong, with plenty of artillery. It's better than anyone else's out there, but can I cope with the sheer numbers of my enemies? I don't have a lot of money for mercenaries at the moment, so I will hold off on bring many of those in until I have to. This is a war where France's terrain is not an advantage. My strategy at the moment is to gather around Paris, where I can concentrate a large force without attrition, and hope that my enemies will suffer attrition on their way to me. With luck I'll be able to prevent any naval invasions directly onto my soil in the north. And hopefully Spain can accomplish this in the south, where my navy is weak. Not sure what Scotland will contribute, but hopefully they'll give England a run for their money on land. My vassals pretty much suicided into the enemy throng. I suppose that bought me a little time. This isn't a war where I'm going to be pushing toward the front, with my vassals following, so too bad so sad about that. I need the battle to come to me. I'm going full defensive.

And here I was thinking I was about to go into a quiet period of building colonies! :p

There is a "Clear Offer" button for a good reason :)

Yeah... I'm still a total n00b. :p

Well, so far the battle against the coalition is going relatively well. I abandoned my plans to fortify around Paris when I saw a very large force coming from the south east, and a small from the east. I decided to sent the bulk of my force to intercept the eastern troops, since they were closer and I knew I could beat them. The south eastern enemy force began heading toward that battle, so I went ahead and sent the remainder of my forces there. After defeating the eastern enemy forces, I decided to fortify around Brabant and Antwerp, provinces held by Austria (which I would like to have).

There I have rivers to protect me from most approaches, and I can be sieging while I'm waiting, building up warscore and potentially getting some prizes to take home if I win. I've had a few battles with the southern force, but the all out just began. I'm just taking a quick break to think about my strategies.

Castile is dominating against Portugal, in the waters and land. Scotland has pretty much been beaten by England, and the Queen's land forces are now sieging Scottish lands. Nothing I can do to help them at the moment. Well, back to the fight!

Hit their stacks before they group up. Just win the superiority goal and maybe siege a province of two and white peace.

Best is to try and keep high relations to stop coalitions forming. or to declare on them as they form to put the members on separate truce timers (just go for white peace or something)
