Hey all! First post here, but I've been lurking for the last little while.
I just wanted to share this video I made, showcasing what I think are 10 essential things to know before diving into the game. For veterans of tabletop, some of this stuff is probably second nature, but I'm really hoping to make the game easier to consume for newcomers to the series. After all, the easier the game is to approach, the wider the appeal.

I plan on making more such guide videos with the same intent, so feel free to leave suggestions!
And let me know if I shouldn't be posting content like this on the forums / feel free to move it if necessary!

Cheers,

This is a VERY good tip video! - just some very slight inaccuracies regarding melee and what is ignored, removed and gained.

I watched your video and found it very good at helping new players to grasp the basics.

One thing I would ask you is “why you didn’t explain the range bands in the facings cone when you were talking about weapon ranges?”

The shaded bands show the most effective ranges of a weapon. Where the bands overlap showed your most damage potential range.

Something that should be put in your guide is the ability to turn without moving. This is very handy for 'Mechs with Bulwark as it doesn't count as moving. It's as simple as clicking the disk at the feet of the selected 'Mech during movement.

Care to transcribe the essential tips into text? I hate videos. The information density in watching something is often horrendously low compared to reading.
