AI Editor version 1.00

It should be version 0.9, but it's not important. :)

Today I spend working on it, so I hope it will be useful. It is editor for AI files, programmed in VB6, so VB 6 RunTime is needed. I will complete some web-page about it, but don't get much time.

Setup of this programm can be found here (267kB). Only zipped version without setup (34kB) is downloadable here.
To run it, you need mentioned VisualBasic 6 RunTime, available on the MS web site or on my site too .

So try it and send any bug reports, suggestions or wishes to me at eu2@myrealbox.com. :)

It is very early version, far from the perfect one. :D But could be useful.

In game orders

Boehm

A minor point in the rules:

"DoW Human or ai [you do not require a diplomat]"

Since this is an in game order, surely you do require a diplomat?

since I believe it should always be possible to do a DoW ....I will if necessary use a cheatcode to ensure that a diplomat is avaiable for the DoW. (actually u gain 6 diplomats by use of the cheat...but I will make sure to waste the other 5 on trademap offers to countries who will 100% decline.)

EU2 History Log Tools

I have made another tool. With this program, you can extract history logs from EU2 SaveGame files (*.eug) :) and then filter only that records, you are interested in.

Example: You want to write AAR and you don't want to search that awfuly huge file for few records which are insteresting you. You choose about which country(ies) you want to obtain history log records and in what time period. Then click button and you have file only with records, that are useful for you.

Visit my web site where you can download it or download it directly through this link (260kB Setup version) or this link (24kB bulk version). For more info see site above.

To run this program, you need Visual Basic 6 RunTime.

Try it and send me your impressions. :D

I have been doing a bit more thinking about the possibility of allowing movement of capitals...and here is what I have come up with which I will probably allow from next turn unless there is a big outroar against it:

You can move your capital WHEN:

1) You spend 3 spc. actions! (move on first round action!)
2) Your country has been devided into seperate parts...e.g. Burgundy at the moment or if France had lost the 100YW and had been cut into a northern and a southern half...or if the ottomans took out the mamelukes but then somebody swept away anatolia etc.
3) You are at peace!

WHERE can u move your capital:
1) must move from the "smaller" part of your country to the "larger" part of your country.
2) New capital province must fulfill the following criteria:
(a) core province
(b) richest non-CoT province in the "larger" part of the country.

My reason for allowing this is quite simple that since this game allows for quite a lot of what-ifs its pretty stupid to insist that a capital MUST stay put...when clearly it would be extremely stupid...eg. Im quite convinced that if Burgundy had survived in RL as in the game the capital would have moved to the netherlands....just like the capital of France would have been moved down south had they lost all of their northern provinces excepth Paris.....I believe the above rules should allow for this and also be so restrictive as to avoid exploitation. (as outlined in my previous post discussing this)

I just created a new thread in the general discussions forum trying to advocate pbem game in general and spc. advertising the non-player game.....

If I could persuade u to post there explaining a bit why u think it might be fun and/or interesting to play something like this....it might help getting us another player or two! ;)

The link!

Maybe hotmail isn't best service for our purpouse. Too many members, high loadout of servers and so. Maybe some unknown, state-local service should be better.

There is a pretty good chance that we have 2 new players onboard as the Papal States and England...they will probably post something sometime soon.... ;)

it looks pretty nice....although there is a *bug?* in the colonization list of continents, regions and areas....since it just mention all the countries and not the possible continens, regions and/or areas! - but when this is fixed I think it will make ai editing quite a bit easier and more understandable!
