I didn't get any response to my last diplomacy actions and it seems not to came unitl deadline. But I can continue without it even if it means some lest AP. But the benefits from my actions was mainly aimed to help the others (and the game itself) :D

Once again the turn as been a bit delayed....some people PMéd or ICQ´ed me and told me they had send their mails...but I think my hotmail account is a bit off to a weird side tonight or something else :rolleyes: - I will run the turn in the morning....it has just gotten too late now....

Im just running the turn now! it got a bit delayed due to some turnfiles recieved late.....and then suddenly I had this urge to go to bed....

3.5 hours later: ....feck after having done the edits I keep getting an error message at startup of Eu2 ....and if I ignore the game crash after a few months...I think I have to start all over with the edits I have tried to locate the error...no luck so far....sorry for the delay!

1.5 hours later: ...Ok Im now ready to start running the turn....:)
Actually there was a small error in the file again but since it was just one error the error message was kind enough to describe it (it had problems translating the line "treade = yes" into "trade = yes" :rolleyes: whereas if there is more than one message it just says errors found! which kind of sucks bigtime if u are trying to find and correct them....

a few pointers....Austria u cannot create an alliance and expect someone who is already in an alliance to join it!

England Im not sure if it was your intention but when u and france signed an alliance peace ...you were no longer at war with Scotland....so all those nice 40k mercenaries were really handy...well u made a nice landing in Savoy! :D

Apparently I did not receive the the provinces from England- in the save game Orleans and Bordeaux are still in the English section.

Actually they are, my mistake. The province information is still in the English section but the provinces are listed under French ownership and control, sorry.

Proposed new rule #1.

Remove one of your CB shields. (This has obvious diplomatic benefits.)


Adding a CB shield is another possiblity, although likely more controversial:

Proposed new rule #2.

Add a CB shield. Requires the signatures of a majority of states. (13 players need 7 signatures to add a CB shield for instance.)



Thoughts? Opinions?

Boehm, I have a question...

if I sent you a changed event file on turn 1, will you use that from that point onwards (turns 2,3,.....) or did you just use it that one time.

If it's a "only-use-the-turn-it's-sent-in" situation, I made a mistake.... :(
(Specifically, an event in this turn came to pass which I set in turn 1, and I did believe I did not need to resend it....)
I'll need to remember to send the eventfile in when that tragic marriage-event's coming to pass... (although I already set it in my turn1-eventfile)

Also, is this the same with the ai-file?
If I use a custom ai-file, but don't change anything from last turn, do I still need to send it to you again?

I am quite sure that both the event file and the ai file are always the last one you sent in, so your Round 1 send ins still apply now.

So no need to change the ai file each round, or no need to do the event file more than once. This was what Boehm said to me, anyhow, so I think that is the answer. Boehm can of course verify since he is headmaster :D

Boehm, any chance you will enter the AAR? Perhaps as Pope? Do a few interdictions or something maybe?

Oh yah, I was doing some thinking, and thought of another rule (sorry for getting annoying). But Burgundy's fate made me think of it, and it could have some nice diplomatic twists!

Proposed Rule #3

Move Capital province. The new province must be in Europe, and you must be at peace. (Otherwise this can be exploited to avoid getting your capital sacked.)

An additional restriction should be: The new capital must be one of your CB shield provinces.
(Otherwise Lithuaniua might move its capital to Bremen now...)
Now if you manage to get an additional CB shield first you'd be fine....

WordPad ;) ....has a nice search function and when I need to look up e.g. Castille I search for ai = "Ede or something like that which will give me a unique hit...whereas tag = cas will give like 50 hits ....

quite correct ...the Ai and Event files once customized stay that way...until the player drops out (in which case the default is reinstated) or a new file is send in....

hmm about entering the AAR frankly I think I have enough work on my hands as it is....and frankly I think its best for the game if I dont interfere directly with great proclamations telling people to beat up Venice....ohh wait :rolleyes: perhaps I could do THAT.....yeah! :D the pope is very concerned about the violent unnatural growth of the cancer republic of Venice....and hereby gives a free CB +1000 ducats to anyone willing to DoW Venice using ferocity = yes! ;) ....

....just joking ofcause! :p

Im afraid inflation cannot be proporly modelled in this game...it could have if I had only ever loaded the game as Kongo since then it woud just be a matter of making sure Kongo had a high inflation so that the player-ai inflation would not get reset to the human level (which the game generally do if the human inflation is lower than the ai´s inflation).....However due to the possibility to give ingame orders I have to load up the game as different player countries to give the orders and save and exit....the problem with this is that doing this will reset the inflation of the other ai countries to this level if its lower than their own inflation........

sooo inflation is not modelled....and soo its not really necessary to be able to lower it! ;)
