I guess that wouldnt be a problem....just another IN-GAME order...so if you were already doing a DoW (and thus paying the 100AP "starting cost" for doing any ingame orders!) it would be a problem hireing mercenaries....cost 25AP and ofcause u need to have ducats enough and get whatever mercenaries are avaiable!

WAYYY to open to abuse...there was a reason I specifically wrote ships...and limited it to such a degree! - and I still think it can be abused...but historically this did happen as part of peacedeals, e.g. Denmark had to surrender its fleet to the English during the Napoleonic war...

Okay, it was only a thought. I thought that a nation might be able to provide a small contingent (actually, how about giving them one of your leaders!!!) to fight with them. I'm liking the idea of giving non-monarch leaders to a country for a high cost- Spain gives Portugal Cortes to help Portugal subjugate, say, Benin, and gets him back at the end of the turn (if he's alive).

Boehm, thanks for offering a relatively cheap way out of vassalisation, I think it came on your mind because of some stupid things King Joao did, what ended with Portugal being the vassal of Castile.
As a Duke of Lisboa, I couldn't say to my king nothing else than «I told you, be peaceful, collect the money and sit on it – Portugal's days are yet to come». It is entirely his fault and that will teach him a lesson. He lost almost half of his tax income. But Dukes of Lisboa were never richer than in last 10 years! As we rely almost completely on trade, we lost nothing. Surely, we sympathise with our people, but the decision what to do next is yet to be reached.
Our main concerns now are those trade agreements we paid for (with AI controlled countries). Portugal now has not a single trade agreement. It's most probably because all our pre-vassalisation alliances were broken in the moment of vassalisation, but I would nevertheless want you to confirm that. Thank's.

hmmm ok better look into this...I presume u players would like to know as much as possible about what happened during the turn

Boehm: in the next turn an you also tick the following game logs to show.

- when another nation wins a land battle
- when a province rebels

It always helps to get more info, especially if you try to make an AAR.


As for soldiers: meraneries good idea, transferring soldiers/leaders not.

hmmm how embaressing....I must have edited them in but not saved proporly! ....Im very very sorry....the trade agreements will be implemented right away in the new turn! ...I will even alcate u a free 25AP as compensation ....so that u may buy an icecream or something for your king! :)

Wider Trade Agreements

I have one new (maybe someone had it already) rule in mind.

We can make military alliances with other countries with up to 5 members (if I remeber correctly). My idea is to make trade agreements where more than just two countries can be united (e.g. "We want to make a trade agreemet all together."). That means that they all would have a trade agreement (TA) with each other, but must spend less AP to achieve it.

If making TA now with 5 other countries means 125AP to spend by one player, with new rule it will cost for example 75AP (to make TA of more than 2 members with no additional cost if more members). It will mean saving of 50AP. If you want to make TA with 10 countries, 175AP would be saved.

The limit for number of players should not be set, if, than should be higher than for alliances (at least 10 or 15 members).

It may need more work to be done by boehm. It may also motivate players to make such TA instead of single ones (or two-sided). The work would be done once and no further care needed (in most cases).

This TA could be named formally and some level of hierarchy could be there, managed by the players in diplomacy thread. It would make this game little more life-like or how to say it.

Please, think of it, try to imagine and make it real if possible. :D

And since AP-costs are there to make boehms workload less, I can't see why there should be a rebate when increasing his workload manifold. ;)

Boehm,

The screenshots are all really useful, but I would say this: Can you concentrate on shots from the main view rather than the diplomacy screen? We should able to work out who a war is with, generally speaking, from the game log, but war progress is much harder to determine, particularly relative troop strengths.

If anyone disagrees, please say.

sure no problem...also I will concentrate more on screenshots of countries whose players have requested them during turn1 ....Ill still make a few of the rest should the urge for screenshots suddenly arise...but not soo many
