It's good that I anticipated that this achievement might be lying in advance, and made a contingency plan. It's also sad that stuff like has happened enough times that such is a reasonable and recommended thing to anticipate:




Since I had converted Champa after annexing them, I was able to release them in Mahayana and get the achievement. This could easily screw someone out of an achievement they earned.

There's 10/11 because of the 9 nations, then the 1 (before 1500). Or is there some issue with there actually being 10 nations following the faith?

? There are 10 nations listed in the screenshot and the religious map mode adds it together for us. Where are you getting 9 ?

I'm guessing it doesn't include the player, and is probably a tooltip bug rather than a code one. Should be changed to read "have 10 *other* nations follow the Mahayana faith by 1500"

Well I read the title I thought the 10% needed to embrace an institution. Due rounding up the numbers 10% isn't always 10%

Yes, that would be the most logical bugfix.

Which is a bug, because said "bad wording" causes the game to lie to the player about the achievement requirements.

At least in quoted case, if you do the math you don't actually have 10% and can identify that it's rounding. It's a poor representation, but it's not providing outright wrong information.

In this case, there literally is "at least 10" nations following Mahayana, so in the picture I have strictly earned the achievement as stated without receiving the achievement. That's not okay.

Fortunately, as a veteran player who knows this game lies to players dozens of times over, I didn't trust it.



But that doesn't change the fact that this achievement is bugged and should be fixed!
