Waiting 10 freakin years to make a policy pisses me off in eu2! I hope eu3 creators can find a better solution for that. I recommend ; -2 stability hit rather than '10 years and -1 stability' .. So minors can get benefits for being minor to make domestic policies more and faster..

Note: What the hell 10 years mean anyways

It's a nicely round amount of years, intended to stop players from changing Russia into a plutocratic democracy with Europe's best naval doctrine in a decade or so.

It's workable, but I too would prefer a different way than the ten-year thing.

Well, actually, in an EU year there is only 258 days, not 365.25, so really you only have to wait 9.8 years; not so arbitrary after all is it.

I hope now you can sit back, sip your eggnog and clover and enjoy that extra three months.

I would like the option to move the sliders again after only five years, at a cost of -2 stab.

Just to prevent those times when you move +1 central and three days later the Cities demand their old rights or whatever.

Sheesh, Selim, what's with the attitude? I mean, your idea is maybe good and maybe bad, you can argue it either way, but surely you could present it in a polite manner without implying that the game designers are morons?

you probably meant 358

and you are wrong. It's 360 days and I'm counting February in that. That 28th february in EU2 contained 29 and 30 too... you can notice all going a little faster in that day

I would like a built-in reminder to change your DP settings that kicks in 10 years after your last click. I forget about it all the time. The reminder events that come in the AGCEEP are useful, but if you forget anyway (guilty :eek:o) they go out of sync.

In reference to the OP, only being able to change your sliders once every ten years is a good thing. It forces you to think about which change would be most beneficial at that point, and thus makes the game strategy deeper. Incidentally, I suspect if the limit was once every five years you'd be complaining about that ;)

I don't know if this would make sense or not, but I liked the idea Johan posted about having a certain army and naval tradition, which was essentially a point system abstracted to represent the number of leaders, etc. you can train.

Along those same lines, perhaps there could be an administrative or bureaucratic tradition (probably butchered that spelling, excuse me), where the score would be indicative of your country's overall stability and points could be used to change policies. Too many points taken would plunge a nation into infinite chaos, but the user would have more control and would be able to plan his/her domestic strategy accordingly.

Exactly, every month in EU2 lasts 30 days (from 0 to 29) including February but 1st February is displayed for day 0 and 1 and 15th for day 15 and 16.
Which makes 358. ;)

Though I thought it was 15th for day 14 and 15, but it's been a long time since I looked into it. :D

I like Sir Grotiuss idea. Its atleast better than waiting those 10 years. If your populace was extremely flexible with new policies, why should you wait 10 years to make another one.

A nice addition would be a "Policy is reviewed" event where you could choose to go +1, -1 or no change for a certain domestic policy.
