And last but not the least, we are finally opening up road modding. Another dev diary will go into details of how to create your own roads, but the main thing is that this will be possible with the Green Cities free update. I can’t wait what you will come up with regarding roads!
It's in the update, we didn't list everything in the update just the "main" features. Clearly I underestimated peoples love for road modding. What happened to the road editor tool?
The noise pollution because I hope that it is going to matter now, because at the moment you totally don't have to care.
Is it fun to have to place police stations, fire stations, schools, in every new neighborhood you build?
I was perhaps a little grumpy late last night, and overreacted a little. It really wouldn't really be as bad as running cable/internet and whatnot, which I don't like. I think because there is enough of that sort of thing already (water/sewer, power), and it doesn't really add anything more beyond "you have to do it". There are those who don't even want to have to do water/power and wanted it included in the roads.
Yes, it is similar to police, fire, hospitals and so on. I think that is why I don't really like it. As in my cable/internet example above, there is enough of those kind of things already without having to add another. In the past I used gas stations from the workshop, and I liked using them, but it was something I could put where I wanted, not because you had to. I am mostly a "city painter" type player, and while I do want some mechanics, I don't want too much minutiae.
