... and limited to 1 per fleet...
Please no such limit to one per fleet! I wouldn't want the optimal play to be a stack of fleets that all fly around together.

I don't think making a fleet purely of titans should be impossible, it just shouldn't be anywhere close to the optimum play. It could be great fun for an RP-heavy game though.

If you can only have one tital per fleet, and the titan's buff/aura only affects the fleet it's in, then that wouldn't really be how it would work. That is, unless you want aura x for all your corvettes, aura y for all your destroyers, etc.

I mean 1.7's patchnotes specifically mention a fix to ethics attraction.
As does the 1.6.2 patch notes. 1.6.2 has all the same fixes as 1.7.x, just lacking the new MP changes.

If I have two titans and want to go all-in on a major fleet battle, I wouldn't just leave a titan at home. I'd bring it too, even if it is alone in a second stacked fleet.

Also, that would be a change to the aura mechanic that currently affects all ships in range. Besides, most existing auras apply a curse to your opponents, not a benefit to your own ships.

no thank you there should be no limit on how many titans you have in your fleet, not just there should be no limits on any ships in your fleet at all
well some kind of supply limit/range system would be useful for fixing the whole "two Doom Stacks fight once and decide the entire war, now you just need to wait for all the winner's armies to finish invading all the planets to make it official" problem...

peaple that speak about titans When it is not even sure if they will add this feature, and certainly not in 1.8

There is still time to think about titans, a long time. Remember that if the 1.9 will really be the version for the rework of the war, the titans will have to fit the mechanics to come out not in the current version, but along with the entire rework: FTL rework, combat wings, static defence, and maybe many others thing! Talking about it now based on mechanics we still do not know is most likely useless!

Or it would just make battles micro-heavy, with reserve fleets standing in system next door and sending their ships whenever losses make space for them. I.E. doomstack in disguise.

Ad one titan per fleet policy.
Lets imagine you have two fleets of 30k power and one titan each. You send them into battle, and they take heavy losses. Now you have two fleets of 15k power and one titan each. You want to combine them, because you think 30k power is the minimal to make fleet battle-ready. But gasp! You cannot!
Sounds soo fun.
