Wtf man Byzantines should have cores on virtually everything :/
But the thread is about losing those cores, which they apparently have not.

You can literally just go in game and check. They're gone. But the thread is about losing those cores, which they apparently have not.

I can't I am at work, which date are you starting at for them to be gone? Rhodes has two cores on it in the video I watched and they lost it to greek rebels which gave the provinces to Byzantium, so the cores were still on them in that game. He lost both Rhodes and Cyprus to rebels and then to Byzantium.
Wait are you actually expecting a step-by-step tutorial here? You are trying to restore the Roman Empire. The Roman Empire is effectively dead at this point. There is no easy way of doing it like how you can easily beat UK as the USA.
I got stuck already:
1457, Ottos have 90 (!!!!) ships and 35k army, while I have 30 ships (24 galleys + 6 cogs)
I got alliance with Austria, Poland, Serbia (who annexed Bosnia completely) and Theodoro, therefore Ottomans are afraid of attacking me, but this will lead nowhere since they can reconquer thir cores from Anatolian minors and I have no foreign cores except for Ottos.
Guarantee one of the beyliks and reap the defensive war.
...and a new tip about ironman cores arrives)))Ok cheese found !! Select Byzantium with the Kingdoms of the east 1444 start.Dont tick ironman just yet.Advance one year ahead with the arrows and revert back to 1444 again.Boom you have all cores![]()
. Tick ironman now and you are golden.
Those cores are a joke.I am seriously hoping that this proves to be a quick workaround of a bug and helps people play Byz till Paradox delivers a hotfix. If this is an intended nerf then enjoy your cheese.
Oh btw be careful to get all the cores back. I ve tried this method 3 times now and the Crete/ Trebizond cores are sometimes stubborn and dont reappear. In this case just advance 100 years with the last arrow and revert back till all the cores appear ( Rhodes,Crete,Cyprus,Trebizond,Albania)
Proof btw.

I did what sir Kh3lben proposed, and I got a core on Cyprus only. No cores in Rhodes, Krete, Trebizond...
Those cores are a joke.

Thanks, your method worked like a charm. =)Read my last post it has a bit more detailed explanation. Just tick the diplomatic map on the start screen and dont start the game till you got all the cores

I can confirm that moving the year forward and back regains cores on Rhodes and Cyprus. Unfortunately, this did not restore the core on Trebizond or Crete. Other bad news, if you Day 0 attack Cyprus (Reconquest CB), The Mamluks answer the call.
On the plus side, there are more Greek territories. In fact, Candar is now half Sunni-Turkish/Orthodox-Greek.
I mean the one thing the remnants of the Roman Empire should have is a cause for war. That's what we've had in EU4, deal with it, we don't have cores across Anatolia like in EU3. You can get lots of free claims though if the Purple Phoenix missions fire, but they almost never do.
