one of the major drawbacks of playing an organic in SD is that you cannot make use of machine empires others than making them a vassal or a tributary. Ceding their planets will only give you the planets and all the robot pops will be dismantled leaving you with nothing.
As a machine empire playing as a DE or DA or RS you get the best of both worlds. You can cede machine and organic empires and make use all of all the pops. DE can purge organics for up to 12 energy a month.
Organics are screwed, but i feel like dismantling thousands of robots should give you atleast some minerals in return.
tl;dr. Dismantling 100's of robot pops should give the player some minerals in return. Maybe +3 minerals a month per robot. A machine gets 8 energy per organic...
