According to the interface/portrait_properties.txt file characters with martial > 12 without any titles always get martial outfit and 0-th hear.
I know what it was made deliberately but the problem is what even when such a character later get ducal title and loose martial outfit baldness still remain.
It may not seem critical but it do look rather strange.
I can understand what you've tried to fix graphical bugs caused by overlapped hair and martial outfit, but perhaps there can be some other solution what will lack such side effects.
I'm not sure if it's easy done, but maybe it is better to add some property to the outfit which will disable hair's layer?
Or just add some kind of technical layer which will set visibility for the hair - invisible if martial outfit trigger is true and enabled otherwise.
