Brand new game, 1.6.1 installed before game creation, no mods even installed, let alone enabled. Verified game files before the game was created. 10 year patron achievement did not fire and it has been months.

1.6.1 Achievements are not working

Achievements are working for me in 1.6.1, where they previously were not in 1.5.1 (I skipped 1.6.0). Could this be something non-Paradox related (or at least only peripherally related), like whether or not you have Javascript and/or cookies enabled on your system, the effects of a Steam update, etc.?
Are you talking about the new achievements, or the old ones? I already had the old ones, but some people have commented these have been activating, but it is the new ones which are not. I can only confirm the new ones are not activating for me.
Usually easy to check too, since I go exploring, find a trader, and try to buy their special good for the "The Good Stuff" and it doesn't ping.
This issue prevents any enjoyment in SP because I played through one game, received domination victory, and turned around and saw I didn't receive like 10 achievements. I don't want to end up doing all that again and still not receive any recognition.
Hmm. There must be something else at play then. I am earning achievements in my current game. Whereas there was time i wsnt earning any (even most basic ones - cause i just bought the game and didnt have any achievemnts). One thing i also changed in my hebavior is NOT marking my races as possible to spawn in my games. But i am soohting in the dark right now.
For some reason, my game refused to join my MP game too. So I ended up just deleting the entire game install and re-downloaded via steam and it is working now. Will check if that was causing the achievement issue later.
Fixed it.
So yeah, for some reason, something broke in the updating which cannot be fixed with verify install or anything like that. Needs the game to be deleted completely, then reinstalled from scratch.
Have same problem 1.5.1 game with no achievements. The question is, when this bug will be fixed (dont see any Paradox comment here, so may be it wont be fixed), can i have earned achievements in this saved game?

I know there were some issues with games started in 1.5 and/or without a given dlc (subsequently added )
I suggest that if you think that a given achievement is bugged, specify which achievement and post your savegame, so the Devs can look inside..

Hi everyone, sorry to hear about your issues with achievements. A big thank you to all the people who posted great tips.
To answer some questions,
A) Yes, we do check that achievements in general can be earned every time we release a patch.
B) Yes, we do check that new achievements can be earned when we release them or when we significantly change them
And to summarize the advise for everyone experiencing problems:
1) Do not use ANY mods, even when the game claims it is achievement compatible.
2) Verifying and reinstalling are good ideas most of the time if you have an issue with this.
3) Continuing ironman games from prior saves has issues, do not take their ironman compability for granted
If you are sure none of those things are interfering, let me know the exact achievement and we will get digging but please understand this forces us to test in ironman which makes it quite a slog that can take a while, especially for late-game achievements.
