Thanks for the patch! AE is nice and all that. Just formed Prussia as Brandenburg with the new patch. :)

How about having less AE on the easy difficulty or even make an arcade difficulty? So the players who hate AE can play with that. It should only take a couple of lines with code to add these modifiers to the settings. It will of course be incompatible with ironman, but that's probably okay since easy settings already is incompatible.

I said Spain not Castille, 1510

What you gave as an example has nothing that resembles any coalition in the game ever: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_of_the_League_of_Cambrai

You had multiple factions switching sides in this one war to the point of ridiculousness, separate peace deals galore, and THIS is your best example of a "small nation" (lol) in a coalition war that somehow suggests that the in-game mechanic that works nothing like it is REALISTIC?

Also, Venice in 1510 was still very, very powerful.

The game simulates history it cannot reproduce hisory...

as far as switching sides even during wars, I've been advocating that since forever, but because of complaints from people who did not like the AI becoming hostile now we have the neverending Spain-France alliance and other oddities.

Some feedback after a Venice game:
I like the slower decay.
Not sure if this is a 1.6.1.1 or 1.6.1 problem but AE numbers seem very odd - examples:
*Venice conquers Hungerian province -1 to -3 AE for most countries
*Austria conquers 3 HUngerian provinces -1 for vast majority of countries
*Venice vassalises Ferrara in same war as above -60! AE for every country in close proximety
*Austria conquers a totla of 14 provinces in 14 years and most AE they have at one time is -6.
*Austria conquers 3 Bohemian provinces and gets -1 AE from Bohemia!

This leads to Austria being the nice guy or something and Venice being the most evil nation in the world. Coalition of Austria + 5 Italian states + 3 German forms. 2 coalition later and AE is all gone.
(N.B. OPM Mantua attacked Venice to start a coalition war. This then lead to Austria becoming leader of their side and bringing in their allies. This lead to Poland becoming leader of Venice side and brining in their allies.... Became a Europe wide war with Castille Aragon Naples Venice Poland Lithuania Denmark Norway Vs Austria + Italian states + 4 small german states - Austria was not Emperor. Those pesky Italians and their wars! Was amusing though. Especially how easily Austria defeated everybody and got lots of war score for just winning lots of small battles. At one point a 65k doomstack was going around mopping up lots of littl 6-14k stacks. Had they joined together Austria would have lost)

Venice conquers Cyprus... -1 AE for most countries haha ???

Ironman game from 1.6.1, playing 1.6.1.1 open beta.

Pomerania sent a peace offer to me. I opened it but did not accept. I sent my own diplomat to sue for peace; they were not the war leader. I demanded full annexation since they were only one province. After I hit "Send Demands" it made the sound as if they rejected it and the log said "I accepted their peace terms; white peace..." Sure enough, they were out of the war and I didn't own their province.

Not right. I immediately ctrl-alt-delete and killed the process, relaunched. I tried to send a diplomat but it said I couldn't send one for 30 days and 15 September (it was 14 September) would be the next time I could send a diplomat. The next day (15 September) they accepted my peace (full annexation). So it remembered that I demanded full annexation before I killed the game; it thought I had sent a diplomat 30-days ago (it was only 1 day ago); and the initial demands should have been accepted, weren't, and in fact made me accept their peace offer.

Has anybody confirmed the existence of non-admin efficiency based war scaling against large coalitions or just large nations in the beta patch? 1.6 introduced an apparent bug where Ming costs 998% if you declare on them at 1444 rather than ~400% war score (province cost scaling down if at 400%). The patch notes erroneously list peace cost changes for large coalitions, but the actual game does no such thing and removes scaling for large countries.

The patch notes say nothing about scaling removal.

AE and coalitions just need to be entirely reworked at this point. The amount of ping-ponging that has been done on the value adjustment for them just proves that the mechanic doesn't work, especially when they're entirely unrealistic and further help blobs blobbing instead of deterring blobs from blobbing.

1.6.1.1 Mac - unable to right-click

On the Mac in 1.6.1.1 Beta I am unable to right click. It works fine in 1.6.0 and 1.6.1. I have tried:

Magic Mouse
Magic Trackpad
Standard 3-button Mouse (borrowed from a Dell machine)

I've double-checked all settings. I can right-click properly everywhere else, but not in EUIV. Playing in Windowed Full Screen mode. Going back to 1.6.1 without any other changes, and right-click works.

Obviously, game is unplayable without right-click. Thanks for your attention to this.

EDIT: I can right-click in Full Screen mode and in regular window mode. The problem with those is: a) In full screen, I can't switch out to my development tools for modding an b) in regular windowed mode the bottom of the game screen is off the screen.

AE: "Intended Levels"? I hope this doesn't mean back to 1.5, conquering three provinces in Europe already gives you a coaliation of literally 10-20.

I was able to dupe this under 1.6.1.1 , but not the internal beta after that. So it seems it's fixed already.

BTW you can switch out of fullScreen on Mac by doing command-shift-Q (quit). When the confirmation prompt comes up click on that dialog box anywhere except the OK key, and you're out int the finder.

Is it still the case that AE decay gets rounded?

If so, the recent reduction in AE decay pretty much make Better Relations Over Time modifier useless. since 2.6-2.9 decay is the same as 3.0 decay and so on.

AE: "Intended Levels"? I hope this doesn't mean back to 1.5, conquering three provinces in Europe already gives you a coaliation of literally 10-20.
AI helping defeat rebels: YES!!!
Strait Blockade fix: This might make Byzantium strategies slightly more plausible

He means higher total AE than 1.5 and similar decay.

Feedback: After forceannexing Salzburg and vassalizing Baden+Switzerland, AI Austria got a coalition against them with 14 members but when Wurtemberg started a coalition war on Austria only a few states joined the coalition war, France with vassals + Tuscany. Some months later Austria got a second coalition war against them. Are there supposed to be many coalitions at once vs 1 target?
