The vassalize mission change to max 25 basetax struck me as a bit odd. It's not really a big help, since nations at ~20-23 basetax can be vassalized anyhow?
Thanks, great post that helps to highlight and expand on the patch notes.
Great work TheBloke!
Very impressive.
Thanks for organizing the information in an easy to read (and understand) format.
Bloke, you've done an outstanding job of testing issues, collating data and generally making a really positive contribution to the game and the community. No game is perfect, and no one will likely agree with every design decision, but stepping above that and doing what you've done is really refreshing.
I hope the next checksum is BLOKE![]()
Great section, now it's much more clear for me, thanks.![]()
I totally agree with you on that, it doesn't make much sense to me.The vassalize mission change to max 25 basetax struck me as a bit odd. It's not really a big help, since nations at ~20-23 basetax can be vassalized anyhow?
Direct inheritance also? I mean, when e.g. Spain inherit Portugal without PU stage. Something what happened in my yesterday's gameWhen an Overlord is annexed or integrated, all of their subjects will transfer to the nation who annexes them.
This includes:
Full Annex through war
DipAnnexation of a vassal
DipIntegration of a PU-master
So when I vassalize England, it will lose not only vassals, but also Colonial Nations? Well...Other situations and rules for subject transfer:
A nation is Vassalised:
It loses any existing subjects; they are set free.
A nation is made into a Protectorate:
It loses any existing subjects; they are set free.
Do vassals always buy a province with core/claim/historical connection? Or is the proper character of a ruler still needed?
Do vassals create new claims?

So im trying to sell provinces I have a core on to my colonial nations but they wont accepts due to -1000 because of no core, claim or previous owner. Is this a bug or intended?
Does that mean that even if they are militarists, they will not buy it?
<grumble, grumble> That's why it took me five minutes to find your thread.Added: Section B, 4, B: Achievement Changes
Also: Woohoo, stickied! Thanks Besuchov![]()
Hey Bloke, do you know if Protectorates count as home provinces for fleets. Last version I played, they did not, and fleets would take attrition. Haven't played a colonizer in 1.5, yet.
Related: Though both Protectorates and vassals provide fleet basing, given the FBR change, neither provides a base for coring or colonial range, anymore, right? But Colonial Nations do, right?

Section 2 - in post 2 of this thread - is now in place, detailing changes applying to all subjects.
I still have more to add, but am releasing this now and will come back to add more soon.
Well it's possible but unlikely actually, as by destroying Denmark you'll destroy its prestige, greatly increasing the chance that the PU will be canceled in the process. Also, as subject are more likely to declare independence now, if they feel Denmark is weak after a first beating from you, they'll rebel on their own.So if my first move is to spend a couple of wars annexing Denmark, I get Sweden and Norway as lesser partners?
That's pretty crazy.Seems the dual-PU achievement just got a lot easier.
Oh my god you're right. This does seem a bit of an oversight. If you manage to vassalize Denmark and integrate them you could nab two PU's. If Denmark is your vassal, and its PUs try to rebel, as Denmark's overlord I think you'd be pulled into that independence war so you could effectively maintain control within a rulers lifetime. Most certainly long enough to annex Denmark. So if my first move is to spend a couple of wars annexing Denmark, I get Sweden and Norway as lesser partners?

So no real worry to have there, fortunately.![]()
