This message appeared when I won an offensive planetary invasion during a war:

I've attached two saves to this post, one from when the message was onscreen, and the autosave immediately prior (two months before the game decided to remove my empire from the map.)

See that empty space in the lower right? All that was part of my empire.

Here's a better set of screenshots, one from the autosave, and one from the post-erasure save:

The planetary invasion in question was of the planet that my Second Task Force is bombarding. I was playing a completely vanilla game, not even any graphical mods were active.

Adding some more saves, as per the request here. These saves show that the issue occurs within a day or so following the successful invasion of the planet Dolok, even if I abort and restart the invasion.

@Jorlem thanks that will do nicely.
The War in Heaven triggered in my game, and has been having some issues with event targets among other things, as I reported here. Then I noticed that one of the warring Awakened Empires had vanished. I loaded an earlier save to see what was going on and discovered via tag switching to them that they receive the same empty victory screen when they disappear from the map as I reported above. I did a bit more looking around, and discovered that this AE had just successfully invaded the planet Dolok, the same planet that I had invaded when the bug happened to me.

So, this bug can apparently happen to the AI as well, not just the player.

I've attached a save of the day before the AE vanishes (their ID number is 16), one of the autosave at the start of that month, and one after.

I had a similar bug, but for an AI Empire. As soon as a planet switched sides because of a refugees event, the whole AI Empire disappeared.

I have had this bug also and posted save game here.

I do remember getting asked by the slaves to change sides and when I agreed to that I got this victory message and my empire was lost.

I Just bump it. because it looks like Wiz has overseen this gamebreaking bug. How shoudlt i play Ironmode again, if i have to fear the "you have won but YOU have LOST" Endgame screen more than the endgame crisis ???

Most other bugs can be avoided, but this one kills your entire play trough. If that is not game breaking whats needs to be happen in game to be considered GAME BREAKING ?

And the BIGGEST Problem: This bug is not mentioned in the 1.6 Patchnotes. The only thing that comes near to it is:

"* Fixed bug where your country could be destroyed if a planet you attacked got rebel revolts"

I really would appreciate more communication from QA on this Forum, as its closed and only for paying customers. I thought thats the way it was intended (and not for hiding bugs from new customers ;))

This just happened to me as well.

Running 1.5.1, with the following mods active:
  • Animated Synthetic Portraits
  • Cybrxkhan's Assortment of Namelists for Stellaris
  • Diverse Rooms
  • Government Variety Pack
  • Transcendant Ascension - Only The Perks
  • Utopia - Balanced
Game in question was also started in that same version with those same mods.

During an offensive war, the game ends with generic text immediately following a successful planetary invasion, and my empire disappears (although my planets are still inhabited).

Attached in an autosave from just before it happens.

EDIT: After that autosave, I successfully invaded other planets instead. However, going back to the "problem" planet later in the war caused the same bug. So, it seems to have to do with the particular planets involved, though I'm not sure what or why.
