1.5.0 Can't pick my empire when joining a multiplayer game

That's the thing, I was playing with a friend (he was hosting with both of the dlcs, I don't have the dlcs by the way) for a while. (d050 is the checksum)

When we were about to resume the game I Couldn't find his game in the lobby (but I could join his game by direct id), when I was trying to select the empire it never showed it to me (this gif). it shoud be "Glorious Aempirial Hegemony"

We tried creating a new game, insta save the game and try to load it again but it was the same.

Edit: also we tried making a game with only he and me and it only allowed me to pick observer mode or his empire.

Hey there, savegame is mine. I was the host of the game and we did a bit of testing after that. After he hosted a game (without DLCs cause he don't own any of them) and saved I was able to join and select my empire, but if I host using Utopia DLC he can't chose his empire from the hot-join list because it dosn't show.

There is no error on the error.log so far and we were using only Stellaris + DLCs, not mods or anything.

Ok, we found the error.

If your empire has any dlc feature you can't pick it up again when hotjoining, I've tried to play with that design on single player and it said to me "Your current Design contains errors that must be resolved before continuing." as a tooltip avobe the select button.

Then I tried to edit the empire and it showed to me this error

We edited the savegame and removed the syncretic evolution from my empire and it finally allowed me to pick my empire.

So in conclusion If you don't have the dlc you are not allowed to pick an empire that uses any dlc characteristic when you hot join a multiplayer game
