Happy to see 1.3 released and a few preliminary positive reviews. I'll go ahead and start this.
Please list in this thread what you would like to see in patch 1.4.
My requests:
-A more robust Reformation.
The Reformation in the game, for all intents and purposes, ends in 1550. 90% of the games I see/play, continental Europe is 100% Catholic by 1550, with England/Scandinavia going Protestant/Reformed. France never suffers from serious religious revolts. The HREmperor plays whack-a-mole with everyone not his faith, usually Catholic, and crushes them. IMO Religious zealot stacks during the Reformation events need to be more robust, i.e. they need to have larger numbers, be better equipped and led. They should pose a real problem for the Emperor and threaten to drain his strength. Random uprisings should continue throughout the Reformation until 1650 imho.
-A warning from allies that they are about to go to war.
No country's leader just woke up one morning and decided to walk over to an embassy and declare war. Preparations were made and alliances assured in advance. When an allied AI decides to go to war, they should warn their allies in advance. This would allow everyone on the attacking side to build up their armies in anticipation of the conflict. There should be a significant chance(increased by having the espionage idea) that the target of the war will be warned in advance, and thus will be able to warn their allies as well of impending hostilities.
as a small aside, it would also be neat if in order to cause a "rumors of war" like event, any nation that borders a country that is mobilizing(i.e. a spike in recruitment and sudden increase in maintenance) be warned with a message like "Our neighbor, X Country, is quickly raising levies and increasing its expenditure on material. It might be a good idea to do the same" This event would be much more likely to fire than the diplomatic event above, as it would be easy for people living on the border to report such events to their government.
Edit: more detail added.
