Happy to see 1.3 released and a few preliminary positive reviews. I'll go ahead and start this.

Please list in this thread what you would like to see in patch 1.4.

My requests:

-A more robust Reformation.
The Reformation in the game, for all intents and purposes, ends in 1550. 90% of the games I see/play, continental Europe is 100% Catholic by 1550, with England/Scandinavia going Protestant/Reformed. France never suffers from serious religious revolts. The HREmperor plays whack-a-mole with everyone not his faith, usually Catholic, and crushes them. IMO Religious zealot stacks during the Reformation events need to be more robust, i.e. they need to have larger numbers, be better equipped and led. They should pose a real problem for the Emperor and threaten to drain his strength. Random uprisings should continue throughout the Reformation until 1650 imho.

-A warning from allies that they are about to go to war.
No country's leader just woke up one morning and decided to walk over to an embassy and declare war. Preparations were made and alliances assured in advance. When an allied AI decides to go to war, they should warn their allies in advance. This would allow everyone on the attacking side to build up their armies in anticipation of the conflict. There should be a significant chance(increased by having the espionage idea) that the target of the war will be warned in advance, and thus will be able to warn their allies as well of impending hostilities.

as a small aside, it would also be neat if in order to cause a "rumors of war" like event, any nation that borders a country that is mobilizing(i.e. a spike in recruitment and sudden increase in maintenance) be warned with a message like "Our neighbor, X Country, is quickly raising levies and increasing its expenditure on material. It might be a good idea to do the same" This event would be much more likely to fire than the diplomatic event above, as it would be easy for people living on the border to report such events to their government.

Edit: more detail added.

I want CBs with different AE modifiers for different countries. Specifically, a Holy War with 25% AE for people in your religious group and 100% for people outside of it.

1. An option to automatically invest in cardinals.
2. A dynamic "historical friend" modifier to appear after a certain time period of friendship with a nation (IE 1 point for every 10 years). Should also add 1-5 points every time you answer a call of war. Historical friend modifier shouldn't decay as long as you have positive relations.
3. Cost to change culture on a province should decrease over time. Like for every year you have held the province -1 cost to change culture, or if you want to be really rough about it -1 point for every 10 years.
4. It would be nice if rebel stomping also worked on invading armies. Not useful in european battles, but out there in asia when these coalitions of like 10 minor 3 province nations declare war on you. It would be nice if your armies could intercept and smash them within your territory instead of having to bounce between two theatres of war.
5. Iron Man mode option saved in the "on" position, 1.2 made it so I have to select iron man mode everytime I start a new game.
6. More Logical Coalitions, Where Coalitions have an actual objective (end the personal union of france and spain), a uniting reason (You declared war without a cacus beli and annexed my ally!), or limitations (religion, border distance, ect).
7. Tool tip for when calling allies to war gives you the reason they will not join the war. Currently you must declare war, then go to the allies diplomacy page and the call to war option to learn they are in debt or have too low manpower.
8. Ability to plan a war by asking for time to prepare similar to CK2.

I think this was in 1.3... At least that would be my interpretation of the stuff about default settings.

Mine, since it wasn't mentioned, is still the same as it's been for a while:

1) message when a vassal/junior has a province come under siege
2) message about an ally in a war having a province come under siege

-A warning from allies that they are about to go to war.

Offensive calls to war should happen in two steps.

1. "We want to attack X will you accept?"
--- Yes : Proceed to 2 if war started in < 1 year
--- No : Receive minor relations penalty, End

2. "We have launched our attack on X, you are called to war!"
--- Yes : Join war
--- No : Dishonor the alliance

to stop stupid crap like allies deciding to launch suicidal wars while you are completely drained and exhausted. If you decline in step 1 they should no longer consider you as part of their 'resources' and base their subsequent attack or not-attack on that.

I really, really want these two things:

1. 'Upgrade Ships' button. Keep the cost of upgrading, just make production and distribution automated. As in you click the button, and thus commission the 20 cogs to be upgraded to flytes. 20 flytes are then to be produced in your homeland, the flyte then sail out to the stack and when merging it automatically disbands one of the cogs. Of course no naval maintenance for the flyte before it reaches its destination (to prevent sudden steep naval maintenance).

Don't know if the second has been added yet, but anyway:

2. Detach light ships button. Pretty please.

I agree, in fact I fleshed it out much similarly in a long ago thread of mine. Yours is much more concise though. kudos.

reversal of all the idea changes from 1.3 that are not either a) nepal or b) involve moral (though punjabs ambition should be made 33%, still allows it to have the highest moral in the game but not nearly as OP, the 50% moral at the end was the ONLY reason to play them! )

+1 or at least, detach outdated ships.
This. Upgrades would be too much, but having to go through big fleets to sort out outdated (especially captured) ships is a pita.

And yes, overseas penalties should only apply, if you have no direct land connection between the capitals (and even then, some larger distance may be allowed) I do think that places like Manchuria should stay overseas (or, better just 'distant') when viewed from e.g. Moscow or even Bagdad, however.
