Not sure if this is a bug. Game is modded, though I think the situation here...
20171203233540_1.jpg

...is a result of the DoD events interfering with the older events. I was asked to mediate, though Hungary had declared war in the face of a Romanian refusal to give in. Did the compromise option, and while that seemed to work - both sides are happy I "backed their cause" - and Northern Transylvania did switch over, the fighting didn't end, and as you can see, just by being there, the Romanians are taking over the awarded territory.

Has anyone else seen anything like this? I don't want to post a bug report for a one-off thing.

Just for laughs here - this scenario is a fill on mess! So, I'm playing Germany; non-historical. Poland went with its own faction, and after turning down the Danzig-Slovakia swap, I got bored enough to use the war-goal I got out of that. Poland and the Baltics gone. Sov's have Eastern Poland - I did the NAP to be safe. Italy and Hungary did the Rome accord, or something, but one of the mod's I'm using - Total France Rework - had this "Latin Union", to which Italy was wooed by France - Italy dropped out of the thing with Hungary to join France and Romania.

Anyhow, here you have Hungary against France, Romania, Italy, all of France's subjects [France has a bunch of subject nations in this mod] and also... the Allies, too, as the UK guaranteed Romania as well as France. You'd think with all of that, Hungary would call for help... but no. So hard fall the proud, eh!

But, then there is this!
20171204000720_1.jpg

History repeats itself, or as some might say, art DOES imitate life. Italy's war with Greece did not go so well. Oh, and Bulgaria is attacking Romania, too - the Dobrudja demand. Bulgaria is in the Axis, and also has not called in Germany. Meanwhile, the UK has "access" to Greece, otherwise I suppose Greece might help Bulgaria, seeing as Italy is helping Romania [in the same faction]. Furthermore, Russia has access to Romania, so they can't justify to demand Bessarabia! What a mess!

But so much fun!

I couldn't hit the F12 in time, but I just polished off a massive Soviet pocket - 52 divisions. I was a bit scared - the game said they had me outnumber 3 to 2, yet I've slicing through them; it's 1942! An extra year! Anyway, those 52 divisions... as they were overrun, the on-map notifications come on. All at once. It was like there was one solid word "OVERRUN" ascending into the sky.

Oh, and the Greeks joined the Allies, so the UK faction and the French faction are going at it. No wonder, when I cancelled the NAP, the Soviet AI was keen to to renew it!

Rolled over the Soviets in three months. Wondered why - apart from not blasting up the infra with strat bombing - so I took a look at the pre-Barb situation from the Soviet side...
20171204161953_1.jpg

Units in field short 13k antu-tank units. And from the scarcity of support units - under 1000 - I'd say engineers were not in most of the templates. Gotta wonder what was up with that

Those were new builds. There were 55 mech units in the build queue, just one block of 55, which is stupid, since they obviously didn't have enough in stockpile to cover it all. The AT units that were short were mostly for field units. The AI did have its reinforcements to deployed units marked as a higher priority. I think the AI was waiting for some units to get into position before activating its war-goal for Japan, hence why - despite having 50% more divisions [it had no way of judging the quality of my units] - it would have been willing to renew the NAP right after I cancelled it. Also, the AI had no justification to declare war on me ready to go, unlike me - I was ready. More troubling was why they were still using T-26's - I didn't capture any T-34's.

Strangely, I've gotten the feeling that China and France, and maybe also the Soviets, have gotten weaker with 1.4. I seem to recall that in 1.3 China could hurt the Japanese about two out of five times; once, they completely removed them from the continent. France did tend to get overrun, but it was a tougher slog for the Germans, and that seemed to hurt them later, against Russia, where they almost always got turned around after a long war in the east. Now, Germany storms the west and is collapsing the Benelux nations even as they're still finishing off Poland.
