Hi. I had a look at this and made sure it got logged in our internal database and we're looking at it. I did too find an issue where planes would drop their mission without player or AI input but it only seems to happen if they don't have an airzone assigned to them. Would you happen to have a save for where your issue was happening?

Tag around to Ger, Eng and Ita. Assign orders to CAS or NAV. Human_ai. Watch how the AI cancel the assigned region, but not the order. Wings appear to spent a lot of time in transit as they repeatedly rebase. This has been consistent in all the games I have started started in 1.4.1.
Jap CAS seems to be somewhat better off as they can sometimes bomb for a couple of days before transfering. Once I watched German CAS bomb for 3 days as Barbarossa started after giving a manual order, but that was an exception.

AI has been fairly haphazard about this stuff forever, but maybe it got worse?

I am having the same issue playing as England, in Ironman mode. In some cases the air wings accept orders, but those orders need to be reissued every 8-16 hours (or every 2 minutes of real time). Something seems to be seriously messed up.

which seems to be saying its a thing in single player?
