As the title says, I started my first burgundy run. Currently at 1490 or so.

Now, its my first burgundy, and I hadn't researched them much, so bare that in mind. I had seen 'lothangaria' mentioned, but that was the extent of my knowledge there.

So far a very fun and tense run.

I began by reading the strat on the wiki. So my starting plan was to try for the lowlands and france, then west africa. But also to just hit what was pitched, so to speak.

Nice start on load. Got avalon and austria as allies, then naples. Couldn't get castille yet. Castille rivaled england but not france. france rivaled england, denmark, and austria. I rivaled england, france, and denmark.

Got rep with french vassals. Maine fired and I waited a bit. France, provence, and scotland vs england. I was hoping to get provence tired out, but i didn't want my allies to get involved in other wars.

I got a weak heir by event. Its now past the start date for marie, so i sail my king (charles already dead, this is second king) out to sea.

I decide to dow france, and call in aragon and austria. Provence joins, but not scotland.

I pump disloyalty on french vassals and charge provence with mercs. Provence folds, but french vassals except orleans are loyal again.

I get champagne to take her cores, and take paris and berry (best i could do without a suicide coalition) in the peace.

Phew.

Now I'm behind in loans, but french vassal loyalty (except one) is low again.

Inheritance fires. I keep lowlands. France dows me. Aragon and Austria join.

Halfway through, Austria demands lowlands. I say no, Austria dows me. So I go from smashing french face like a pastry to being pinched.

Luckily, austria had to march his troops back home. I peace out france after sieging two more forts, take 3 provinces, and absorb 4 of 5 french vassals. But they are very disloyal.

I super merc up and hit austrian deathstack sieging me in lowlands, and while i didn't stackeipe them, austria disbanded the stack, putting him at 16k troops. Austria peaces out and reforms alliance with me.

Castille allies france, then juniors aragon. I quickly ally castille.

I am thinking about idea groups at this point. I'm broke, low manpower, my vassals are uppity, ae is huge, but I'm the highest dev in Europe.

I decide I want to push england off continent, eat france/provence/brittany, and colonize.

I took quantity first. Need the gold and manpower.

I dow england and portugal with castille, take 2 lombourd provinces for my vassals (all i could do with my high ae).

Diplo down ae. war savoy for gold and prestige. War england again.

Now, I had no plans to take any land on british isles, but my ae is so damn high, I just hit the pitch. Took london, calais, essex, and sussex.

I still took exploration next. But morocco wont let me charter, which is weird. Maybe because I haven't guaranteed them? Its the first run I've ever had where I can't buy tangiers.

Austria has called me in to four wars (bohemia is constantly emperor now). Provence is being swallowed by everyone. I went protestant.

Now I see the lotharingia mission.

So here is my thougjt:

IF I want it, I need 14 provinces. I wonder, can I dow an hre nation, and when I get close to 99 warscore, just chain dow, and blow monarch points on cores and peace, just chain war until I get my provinces?

I can call in at least one ally. England is dotf, bohemia is emperor. But England is allied to trier anyways.

I could start by dowing england, call in castille, warscore trier and england, then dow, say, urtrecht, and warscore the bohemia alliance, and just keep going.

The main worry obviously is the coalition after, and if my allies would break or not.

I hadn't planned a lothar run, conquering west instead of east and not jouning the hre. But that idea set is looking tasty.

Think its doable in a chain war?

Can you format your post so it's more readable. So no Reddit spacing please.

I think the AE would be too much but you can try. Seems like you're doing fine.
