If you extend the definition slightly you can make any number of changes to how excessively large blobs behave with an extremely small likelihood of affecting anyone who does not want to blob as well. This is why I personally like the idea of making the earlygame more difficult and the lategame (assuming you blobbed like a mofo) easier, it allows more options and potential for challenge while minimizing the unenjoyable features commonly described by both WC and WC-hating players but that is just a preference.
The part I bolded sounds absolutely terrible, and I can only hope Paradox never adopts such a counter-intuitive difficulty curve.

Well that was definitely my bad.

I edited my post to say that I meant to make taking provinces more difficult when you are smaller and easier as you grow larger, with more rewards there should also be more risk than there is now, as many non-WCers have pointed out, once you get to a certain size you just can't lose in the current game.

It may be a counter-intuitive difficulty curve, but it's a surprisingly common one in non-twitch gaming.

Not funny stuff.....

Advisors, a terrible system :

Need a missionary? Lets hope a missionary agent has randomly spawned. You are a country, looks like theres no missionaries in your country (lol)
Need inflation reduced? Better wait for that random spawn......and hope its not a level 3 because you are playing the papal states and you cant afford him.
The randomness of advisors removes any need for skill. Its just luck.

Events :

You get an event that can either give you an advisor that costs 300+ gold and 20-30 something a month in upkeep or +3 inflation (or was it 2?) Good luck on that as a poor nation when you have 50 gold in your wallet and an income of +3 a month. In other words, totally useless for most nations AND through out the early part of the game.
Events seems to be misplaced for some reason, or just pointless. In EU3 the comet had a tendency to appear when you were at war and lower stab added an urgency to finish the war. In EU4 its just spend some points to reduce war exhaustion.

Monarchy points :

Watching a clock tick......boring. The idea in itself is not that bad, it just doesn't work. Build a lot of forts and fall behind in military tech....REALLY?

Trade : Spam boats. want a high income? Build 500 ships and earn a billion gold.

The absolute worst feature of games like Civ is that you have many hours of tedium ahead of you when you've already won the game. It's the reason why so many people abandon mature games - because you know what the outcome will be and you have better things to do with 40 hours of your life.

I therefore think that it is extremely important to allow large empires to do interesting things (I'd also prefer risk and challenge); I think this is what he meant by "easy", e.g. that it's easier in an absolute sense to grow a large empire than a small one. A system where exponential growth was damped a bit for smaller empires and expanded for larger ones could easily end up being a better simulation than the current setup. I think that it would definitely be a far better game.
