Hi, I had purchased DD after downloading the demo. The latest 1.3 patch is failing to find the installed game. Previously 1.2 patch had the same problem, although at time Ztorm had addresed the issue. They are no where around, and I did not see a seperate link for downloaded versions of the game. I will be very glad if somene can assit here.

1.3 patch is not for doomsday as far as i know.... but if the 1.2 patch is causing problems reinstall the game. i had the same problem but solved it this way.

The current HoI2 Doomsday version on http://www.gamersgate.com is fully compatible with the 1.3 patch. If you did originally unlock the demo you will need to download Doomsday again from Gamersgate and then add the patch, as these two versions are not compatible.

Since there is not a seperate choice at gamersgate to redownload the game for those who previously purchased the game through ztorm, does this mean the game has to be repuchased ?
No need to purchase again. You were asked to create an account also when unlocking the demo, and under that account name your game is still available.
I'm still having an issue with the 1.3 patch failing to find the game at all, I have the Gamersgate version.
I've now tried several solutions, including:
1. Multiple downloads and attempts with the forum patch.
2. Downloads and attempts from the Gamersgate version of the patch.
3. Editing the registry entries to insure they are pointed at the correct directory.
4. Changing the physical directory to match the default install directory (C:\Paradox Interactive\HoI2DD) and adjusting the registry entries accordingly.
I'm really at a loss here, and I'm REALLY trying to avoid re-downloading the game because fo the stability of my connection (thank you Comcast
)
Are there any other possible solutions/explanations, and if not is there any possibility of getting more information about the installer (what is it looking for to confirm the game location, physical directory or registry entry or what?) or even the possibility of releasing a version without the installer so I can manually apply the fixes?
(BTW, the game works fine on my PC and is a completely unmodded, 1.2 version, with only a single install)

I have exactly the same problem. I can't see any solution, either. I tried redownloading the game and reinstalling, to no avail. It makes no sense.

I wanted to find out if there's any updated information on a patch that will work with all versions of DD, as it seems several people have encountered a similar problem to myself in installing 1.3.
I've gone through quite a few iterations and methods attempting to get this to install properly, and perhaps a bit of flexability in the installer design (manually point to the .exe perhaps?) would fix the problem quite easily for everybody, myself included.
I understand everybody is quite busy there, just hoping for some word on rather I should give up ever playing 1.3 (until I figure out a way to redownload it from Gamersgate un-interrupted) or if there's still hope out there for those of us who have non-existent (according to the installer) versions of DD 1.2 running on our PCs for some reason.

If hoi2 does not exist, add it, then open that folder and add register key.
Take backup off your register before you do anything with the register.

But I have no idea how to proceed from there. I am for example *very* confused about all the double '\' in the original post by Russomatroso. Whereas I would expect a path to look like C:\Program Files\HOI2\, the path in Russomatroso's message looks like this C:\\Program Files\\HOI2\\. I also do not know how I should add to or change the registry key once I have created it. By the way, I only own the Doomsday expansion and my game is located in the C:\Games\Doomsday\ directory.
I would appreciate it if someone could give me a step-by-step walkthrough I need to take in order to enable me to apply patch 1.3a. Your help in this is much appreciated by me and undoubtedbly by others who suffer from the same issue.
I would also like to add that I am quite unhappy that I have to go through all these troubles before the patch can be applied; I had no such issues with previous patches.
