Hmmm . . . I would say "neither". There may be some new features in 1.3, I wouldn't know. But I think the reason for publishing it as a public beta is to tame the understandable impatience that has grown up over several months, and to let a far larger group of players help identify whatever issues might still stand in the way of finalizing the 1.3 patch and posting it with a full installation routine and so on. If you look at how the 2.04 patch has evolved for HOI3-Semper Fi, you'll probably get an idea of what is intended here as well.

This is good news... releasing a public beta will assuage the impatience of the masses (ie. at least me ) while also giving us a shot to help iron out remaining problems while programmers are still explicitly assigned to work on the patch.

Maybe... I don't play HoI3.
What about Vic2, I'm afraid, that developers try to release one not-bad patch and after that they'll stop work and will concentrate on HoI3.

I imagine they're doing it because it's an effective way to test the new code. They've been doing this for EU3 patches for sometime, and by the looks of it, the community feedback they get is quite helpful.

Savegame compatibility with beta patches is never guaranteed. The devs do make a point in trying to keep it, but again, it's never guaranteed. Especially with V2, any changes in the economy will probably wreck an old savegame.

Quick question

Will the patch be easy to implement by clicking on the 'look for upgrades' button in the main launch window?

I am not very technical and have had problems in the past with upgrading EU3.

I am a gamer/history buff but don't really know much about modding files etc.

There is no way to turn to a democracy peacefully in vicky 2 as far as i can see in the files.

Still 2 weeks wating

And i think 1.3 will be the last patch and i hope we will see an expansion soon

Edit: will the mod folder work with 1.3?

Great news! Took a while, but the beta testers are very enthusiastic.

If everything is fixed, it'll make a great basis for a potential expansion Q4 2011.
I do hope it's Vicky's turn again after For the Motherland.
