Hello,

I recently purchased EU3:IN & EU:R together. I don't have the VV expansion. I'm playing my first game as Rome, started from the first bookmark.

The current date is ~ 507, and I seem to be running out of governor/ general candidates.

1. Can I leave a province without a governor? I am planning to move several governors from core areas to recently colonized / conquered territories in the next couple of game years.

2. I thought I saw female governors in more advanced starting dates, but I can't recruit them now. Is it possible to recruit female governors after reaching a certain technology level?

Thanks.

Hey! Welcome to the forum!

1) Yes you "can" but it is not recommended. You get many negative events, (even though you seem to get alot with a governer in their...) So if its temporary then I say go ahead, but if you want to permanently leave it without one.... Don't. Lol.

2) I do not think you can have female governers. I have never seen them before, as it owuld not make sense for the only female governer is Cleopatra, an Egyptian pharoah. (Is that who you seen?) But if I am wrong then please correct me, but I think she is the only one.

Again welcome to the forums! I recommend getting VV right away, it enhances the game alot.

Thanks for the welcome and quick response. I hope I'll get some new candidates come to age soon - though I haven't seen many marriage or child birth messages.

I'd really recommend getting VV simply because its easier to get governors and all those bug fixes.

Alrighty, I have now installed VV. Looks like I will have a lot to learn!

You should change the line in the file common/defines.txt

16 #_CHDEF_AGE_OF_ADULTHOOD_

to

18 #_CHDEF_AGE_OF_ADULTHOOD_

I read about that change here on the forum and it fixes a major issue with 16 year old kids wanting a job that you can't give them until they turn 18 which turns all the youngsters into populists!
