Me and my friend are playing 1.3.1 multiplayer, me on Mac El Capitan, 10.11.6, he on Linux Ubuntu 14.04. After half hour/one hour play at least one of us starts experiencing visual bugs, like screen turning white, or yellow, or in system view, sometimes one can see nothing but a red line, and/or a blue one, usually perpendicular to each other. Also, when saving (even with autosave) the program might crash to desktop. Most of the bugs appear in system view, sometimes in the galaxy view. I suspect it has to do something with missing in action, because the bugs usually appear after a fleet or a ship has gone missing.

I haven't made any screenshots, but if you need, I can make some next time when we play.

Ubuntu 16.04 1.3.1 (f100) here. I encountered your crash issue.

How to reproduce:
1. Send science ship into combat
2. Wait for science ship to emergency FTL
3. Crash

Note: This doesn't work, when your science ship enters fallen Empire space, and goes missing. Nor does it work when your science ship is inside enemy territory when you declare war. In both cases they just go missing.
Note: To increase the odds of survival, add a shield.

Expected behaviour: Science ship should jump into unknown space and return to your territory

What happens instead: Science ship enters combat. If it survives and jumps, the game crashes, if it dies, you lose a scientist.
