1.29 Mac Launcher not working, CPATCH error

Whenever I try to launch EU4 (either through Steam or directly from the launcher app), the launcher opens and then immediately closes out. I do not get any crash/error messages pop up, though looking in the cpatch.log I see repeated error messages about a closed network connection (cpatch.log included). I can start the game directly through the EU4 app, but none of my DLC shows as being owned. I can still roll back to 1.28.3 and have everything still work fine (which I have done in the meantime).

I have both done a complete clean-install as well as verify files several times, to no avail.

I am running on a MacBook Pro Early 2011 model, MacOS 10.13.16 High Sierra, 2.2GHz Intel Core i7

That does look like a networking problem. What happens if you do a traceroute to api.paradoxplaza.com and to api.paradox-interactive.com ?

Okay, no obvious issue there then.

Can you move the Mac to a different network, OR try on a different computer of any sort on the same network?

FYI the launcher works fine on my iMac under 10.14.6

I guess I must be wrong about it being a networking issue then. Does that cpatch.log look the same still?

How about the other logs in that same folder?

If you scroll all the way to the bottom of the cpatch.log you'll see it connects and then immediately disconnects.

I wasn't sure what other files you needed, so I added them all.

Weird question - is you Mac on good internet time? We had a not dissimilar case recently where the difference between server and workstation time was breaking the launcher install.

What would “good” internet time be? Considering I live in the middle of Oklahoma.

Is your computer correctly getting the right time from the internet? We had a case where the computer was not, and it caused havoc with the launcher installation.

I can only assume so - whenever I open it/turn it on it always displays the correct local time. Is there any way to double check?

OMG I do have different time on my mac, and I have the same problem. Is that the issue? Can you link the post? How do I fix it?

It wasn't a post but a private support ticket, so I can't link it. If I google "set internet time macos" I get some pretty good links.
