1.29.1 Multiple Crashes and Issues

Hello,

1) The launcher has not been working. At first it got stuck loading, and now it gets stuck on the End-User License Agreement. I scroll to bottom, and click "continue," but nothing happens.

2) I load the game through the .exe and it would crash on startup. I did a complete reinstall, deleted folders, etc, and then made sure the new install was added to windows defender.

3) It loads, but now the game crashes my computer around year 1453. It does not happen on an exact date, but within a few minutes of loading my game.

There is nothing in the "crashes" folder, but I have attached my dxdiag.

Please try this:

- uninstall EU4 from Steam
- uninstall Paradox Launcher v2 from the Windows "Apps and features" utility, if still present.


Delete the following folders if still present:

- Steam/SteamApps/common/EU4
- Documents/Paradox/EU4 (keep any valued save games, of course)
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/

Reboot.

Now install EU4 again and see how that goes please!

Thank you, this seemed to have worked. The game has not crashed and year is 1458.

The launcher still does not work however. I still have the problem with the "continue" button.

Playing the game from the exe works fine it seems.

EDIT: Spoke too soon, still experiencing crashes.

I have the same issue. Iam currently reinstalling the eu4. I hope it works

I'm afraid i spoke too soon.

Got to 1463 and the program froze. It didn't crash my computer though.

EDIT: Now getting complete computer crashes.

Move all saves from the Documents/paradox/eu4/save game/ folder, then run the game up and start a new test campaign. Does that then go okay?

I moved the save game files, but still got a computer crash 1448 after starting a new campaign.

EDIT: I appreciate your help, but I decided to downgrade to 1.28.3. I think I'll wait until a future update hopefully sorts the issues out.

So you are still getting:

- the launcher fails
- the game crashes
- the computer crashes

Is that right?

Can I see a new dxdiag.txt please.


Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)
1/ before starting the game up and
2/ after say 10 minutes' play.
If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, install
SPEEDFAN http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

Knock on wood but i think the issues may be resolved.

1) I turned off controlled folder access, and then the launcher worked fine! Adding it to exceptions wasn't enough apparently.

2) My CPU was overclocked. I reset it to default and have not experienced any crashes about an hour of playing.

Edit: Still looking good after another hour of play. Thank you for the help, hopefully solved!
