I just noticed and taken from the missionary power of the muslims. Confucian have %7 catholic %9.5 hindu %9.5 muslim %7 without stability bonuses. Totally nonsense this is an incredible mistake. Muslim same strenght as confucian. :/ :/ :/ Please fix this

What? Do you see that piety slider on the Muslim religion tab? Left side gives +3% missionary strength

As mentioned before, 100% is really hard to hold, since you lose a substantial amount of it on ruler death. There used to be a ruler decision that granted missionary strength for high stat rulers, but that was removed from the game. It was replaced by a new event chain, in theory, you can get +2 missionary strength modifier from this event chain, but it is rather rare.

But yeah, missionary strength is a pain, especially since the most undesirable provinces, heretics, are some of the hardest to convert because of the -2% missionary strength.

But why should it be easy? I see no reasons why Muslims should be able to freely and quickly convert all provinces.

Damn, I had noticed that I wasn't getting that decision but I wasn't really paying that much attention and just assumed that I didn't have the right monarch stats. That's a big hit to Islamic conversion speed. The islamic scholarity decision appears to still exist but requires the much rarer dip 5.

More to the point, this benefit seems to be fairly out of line with the benefits given by other 'good' candidates. I would suggest reducing to 1% and reintroducing some other modifier to give the old 1% bonus that the Sheikh-ul-Islam decision used to give.

In case anyone cares, this event works by basically generating 1 of 3 different 'types' of "Sheikh ul Islam options' for each of the three candidates; good / average / bad. A 'good' Sufi gives a 2% conversion chance bonus for that monarch's lifetime, but the probability of that being an option is only 15% so it's quite unlikely.

But why should it be easy? I see no reasons why Muslims should be able to freely and quickly convert all provinces.

Barring some unusual luck, Islamic states without a high Mysticism (maintaining high Mysticism is now much more difficult than previously) are now among the worst at conversions of all religions, which seems wrong. Conversions shouldn't necessarily be easy, but they also shouldn't be significantly harder than for many other religions, should they?

Yep, heretics are very annoying as a Muslim, unless you're Najd or something. Heathens on the other hand, you don't even need to convert if you have Cossacks DLC, because you can just give them to the Dhimmi estate, and quite a few Muslim tags get a dollop of heathen tolerance in their NIs as well.

I would say that Muslims could do with some more missionary strength versus heretics, but it's kind of historically accurate that the Shia minority is a persistent nuisance for Sunni powers in the Middle East, one that they don't really know how to deal with.

This is particularly bad for Shia states which don't have the benefits of Feudal Theocracy - most of the provinces you're expanding into will be the wrong religion, with a 2% conversion penalty, and all of your DoWs push you away from that sweet Piety missionary bonus...

Yep, Rum knows how to Muslim in EU4. Tolerate the heathens (and turn them into Dhimmis/Janissaries), but give no quarter to heretics.

If you're Shia and don't have Feudal Theocracy, I think you're supposed to take Religious ideas and Allahu Akbar your way through the region. You should have plenty of conversion strength already, so it's OK to go Legalist.

when come to think of it there are 2 shia nations starting at game(important ones ofcourse other than this ones there are some opms)
1)Qara Qoyunlu(huge candicate for persia with goverment type got massive conversion bonus)
2)Bahmanis(wich got national ideas of tolerance)

I mean sure we can just set up a chain of like 10 OPMs to farm for mysticism but I don't think that's what anyone sane would have in mind for a functional religion.

It also miffs me that now christians are basically the only one who are religious-viable (e.g. you are not gigantic handicapping yourself by taking humanist)

I never liked the shift in piety due to DOWs, but it makes even less sense when the axis is Mysticism versus Legalism. I'd much prefer it if the slider was based on internal choices for the most part (including schools/scholars).

I think Islam is fine in general and much more fun to play with all the new decisions and stuff

However Mysticism being so hard to get due to the piety effect from DoWs is something that annoys me as well, maybe add a decision when a new ruler rises whether you want piety effect from DoW or not (that would last until ruler death)

Edit: Or give some mysticism for every converted province and a small amount of legalism per month for every province held by dhimmi

The loss of conversion strength is mitigated by centers of reformation via trade. Which are free and convert at a reasonable pace. If only requires you having 50+ % trade power in the node. Yes, it will convert your own provinces as well. Also, missionary strength advisor is still the cheapest and easiest one to get in the game. It costs only 10 influence.

Not to mention that without moving capital you can't put trade companies on your continent (most muslim countries are located in Asia - which have richest TC regions)
