The weekend is over, and Johan has provided us with more information.

I wonder, how big this patch will be, with all the change(this above and all mentioned in this and another's threads)s I suppose something like 100mb, or more, but I don't care if it will be 100gb, as long as it will fullfill all our expectations and will show itself as soon as possible...(tomorrow..? ;) )

i have a technical question.

iam playing vanilla 1.1 plus a map-gfx mod and i have done some changes to revoltrisk and a way to change from despotic tribalism to despotic monarchy.
also i used a hotfix for the units.

will the patch override all changes i have made ?

i dont want to miss any improvements in the vanilla patch..so should i re-install when it is out ?

Well it depends on the files u have moded and the files in the patch, for example if u have moded the file "static_midifiers.txt" and the patch will have this file in a "patched" way, then of course it will be overrite and all your cancges will be lost.

U dont want to miss the new improvements of the new patch? Well when the patch is on just reinstal the game (it wont take long) and this way u know it will work just fine.

Hope to see the patch this week. ;)

If you use mod directories your changes should not be overridden.
There were instructions from johan on how to create a mod (mod directory and load it with the launcher) which I think you will find in the FAQ.

When Navarre inherited France, Navarre was incorporated in France. Henry IV didn't start calling every french men "navarrians".

As such, even if it's the big nation's leader that dies, it should always inherit the small nation ; not the other way around.

They need to bring back historical events in the next patch. I hate to say it, but without those events the game gets pretty boring, its like playing RISK.

Also, all the countries need to get way more agressive. Its very boring waiting for 50 years for your neighbors to go to war so you can join in and get something acomplished as a small state..

I would also like historical events, but it is highly unprobable they will ever come back.It would be many, many work.

Historical events will not be brought back by Paradox in EUIII, I believe that, that is made very clear already

Other players complain about the over-agressiveness of the AI, especially early in the game.

769 terrabytes!!!

You know, most of the changes will likely be small tweaks to various small text documents. The compressed, I bet it will be less than 10mb.

Has any information been shared in the CE forums on the logic behind the decision to eliminate the inheritance of larger countries via royal marriage? I am really suprised there is not more of an outcry against this. Historically, there are a number of instances from the time frame where this very thing happened. England, France and Austria experienced this at one time or another, to name a few.

A better way to address this would be to give the option to players and AI on whether or not they will become the larger country they inherit and to impose some type of penalties if they choose to impose their government on the larger country, with variable penalties depending on how much larger the country they inherit is than their original country with those penalties decreasing over time (again, the time it takes for them to dissipate determined by the size of the inheritance).

The key in these cases is that England didn't cease being England, France didn't cease being France, and Austria didn't cease being Austria. Inheritance in EU3 means those nations cease to exist.

This is why the option should be made available that the smaller country becomes the larger country that they inherit. Penalties could be imposed making governance impossible (extremely high revolt risk, tax penalties, bad boy, etc.) if the choice is made not to become the larger country if the inheritance is particularly large. For instance, choosing to remain Navarre if you inherit France or choosing to remain Hannover if you inherit Great Britain. But if the inheritance is of only a slightly larger country, the penalties could be less severe and disappear quicker. Better that than completely remove the ability to inherit, which I think will significantly limit gameplay - especially as a minor nation.
