I have the same. Just register your game, and download from the forum.
I also had a timeout downloading - pausing it and restarting worked.
THANK YOU! My speed was everything from 5 kB/s to 80 kB/s, but with that app it raised to about 400 kB/s. Patch downloaded in 2 min, great!
It's worth quoting your download speed when, like me, it's 1.15kb / sec on a 5mb line
well i use steam and the update patches something, but not in the steam directory, and i can't change the directory to install to...
Apparently the installer creates a new directory C:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron III. There you will find the newly extracted files. Copy them to the steam directory and you will have 1.2.
Well I can't get a hold of my friend (owner of the game) so I'm just twiddling my thumbs. Would anyone mind uploading the patch on Filefront or Rapidshare or any other file sharing site?

Allright seems it doesn't work with the steam version. At least I can't make the installer find my steam version.
Try the Free Download Manager then.. Should raise your speed. But ofcourse, the servers arent havent got nearly the capasity they need.
It has nothing to do with the server and everything to do with 8000 people downloading the patch at once. :wacko:

Now downloading at a blazing fast 1.89 KB/s. I haven't gotten a download speed this slow since 1998.

No. My patch timed out when downloading, and resulted in a mere 26 of 45 mbs patch. Downloading through this program is at a whoppin' 7-10 kbs a sec.
I have the steam version i d/l , ran the .exe. i t created a Heart of iron 3 folder in my program files dir, I copied all files and subfolders into my steam HoI3 dir and it works fine.
