I agree. In Victoria 1, I was dead scared to go too deep into debt. I would work pretty hard to keep my debt at reasonable levels so that interest payments didn't shatter my economy. I don't even have to give depth 2 second of thought in Vic 2. Sometimes, I'll forget to update my budget after a DoW, not notice the red, and then when the war is over, I'll be like 250K in debt with no consequences. I'll just take out another 250K or so, let my economy balance for a bit, then repay it all back. I sorta liked that fear of bankruptcy that came with high interest rates.

And jet here is Paradox, who gives you even UPDATES, allmost any other day,
on how its progressing and still you have nothing else to do than to complain.
Some of you dont deserve to play paradox games at all.

Looks like you too need to chill. I'm kinda impatient, I really want to start a new game but the patch keeps getting delayed. I'm itching to play, and the fact the latest reason for delay is MP which I couldn't care less about doesn't help any. I really hope 1.2 will be worth the wait and really solve V2s problems.

In the current economy, any business which fails to demonstrate a respect for their consumers is certain to fail.

they released a broken game and decided on long term solutions rather than hotfixes, of course people are mad.
I just wish we could get a beta, they always did that BEFORE. Why is it different now? That is why people are annoyed.
If you want to eat a shit sandwich of buggy gameplay for a couple of months thats your choice. I personally feel that I didn't get what I paid for. We dont deserve to play their games? WE ARE THE CUSTOMERS! With HOI3 and this I do not feel at all that I got what I paid for.
HOI3 was horrible game. I regret buying that. With this game its ridiculously buggy but unlike EU3 where we had beta patches where the community could test the issues they are going all closed like those "other game companies" you mention. We have every right to be mad about this.
EU3 at release was less buggy and handled a LOT better than these two recent games in terms of patches and community involvement in them.

Am I the only one who actually enjoyed Victoria 2 for 80% of the time, so its not perfect towards the end but its not like its completely unplayable and calling it broken is an outright overreaction...

Wow! You really think that you can insult other loyal Paradox customers (myself included); but, then insist you are immune from any response?
If you are going to make an inflammatory post, like you did, you had better expect some return fire.
I have been a loyal Pardox gamer for almost 10 years. I have purchased lots of Paradox products. I have recommended the games to many of my gamer friends. I still tell my friends that VICKY 2 is going to be a gem.
What I do find offensive, is your effort to stir up trouble by ridiculing other gamers who have legitimate concerns, and trying to drive them away from Paradox games.
This mindset is very dangerous for Paradox.
I believe that Paradox is working to fix the current issues with VICTORIA 2. I can not wait to play the game with the coming patch.
I wish Paradox well and much success.

So true. I've played a good 40 hours and enjoyed the game a great deal. I will say that this is a good kind of thread to come to if you want to know who needs ignoring.
I think this game has effectively devoured the last 2-3 weeks of my life. It's that addicting. Now, I'm not directing this at anyone in particular, so don't take it as so: but I've never seen any other company do almost daily updates for a patch. This in itself to me shows open honesty about the progress they are making. If my worker tells me his report will be done by monday and on monday he doesn't have it, I should be mad. If he tells me it should be done on monday, but on friday, he says that half of it got deleted because of a system error, then getting mad is not the solution.
But for anyone out there considering the game, & reading this thread, in my own personal opinion, it is well worth the money to buy it. Even in v1.1, and even more with knowledge of the incoming v1.2. So if you are debating buying it, my opinion is that you should. Don't be afraid. Take the leap; It might be the best $40 you have spent.
@Alexspeed: That is an insane list of icons under your name. I didn't know Paradox had that many games. I was still debating whether I wanted to go back and buy the entire HOI series & the entire EU series, but apparently there's a whole lot more I need to consider. Now if only I had some time from Vic 2...
Not all of these Icons are Paradox made games, but just those you can register in this Forum,
some of them are just published by paradox.
And some of the older games dont have icons at all.
