What burns me the most is that there are certain posters out there who post in such a fashion as to insinuate that Joe Poster who comes to the Paradox Forums to find some answers to his game-related questions should be totally hip to those questions that have been asked in the forums previously, as well as hip to the whole Paradox "mod scene" -- this despite the fact that there was a time, not so long ago even, when the expectation that the player community would provide all of the features and gameplay improvements that the core development team didn't get around to (for whatever reason) would have been considered utterly ridiculous.
There are several very kind individuals who advise posters regarding mods and previous useful discussions (providing links, pertinent information etc.), and then there are those who write rude posts that insult those who are not aware of the mod community, or are not otherwise already entirely savvy with the Paradox Forum scene.
Those who fit into this latter category do a disservice to both the individuals who come here for help, and to Paradox Interactive, which risks the alienation of those individuals who have come to "Paradox Interactive Forums" only to be militantly accosted by certain posters who, regardless of the fact that they do not represent Paradox Interactive, nonetheless are quite capable of discouraging newbies and casual posters from continuing to participate in this community -- which is bad, to be sure, since the Paradox Community can greatly enhance one's gaming experience (with the various available mods, knowledgeable posters, etc.).
I'd like to think that the forum moderators would take a more active role in encouraging politeness in these forums (which is entirely missing from several of the posts in this very thread), but I am not sure that this is going to occur. In any event -- shame on the rude posters on these forums who, instead of exercising social skills that are quite simple to use, choose instead to engage in combative, unhelpful language.
