Lokks god indeed. :)

Hopefully we will also get a message setting option for diplomacy that allows for a time stop as soon as one has enough influence points for an action like "raising opinion" or "add to sphere". I hate wasting points by missing the right moment.

Is there any chances that we could include a way of aiding rebel factions?
as this would be realistic....i.e a communist country supporting communist rebels in our neighbours...or germany supporting pan german rebels...
the ability to destabilize the neighbour without the need of invading? or that would lead to events of a popular clamour for one to invade?

+1 to this.

Could you guys (devs) comment on this one please? It would add much greater immersion and diplomacy to the game. I've seen some other posters on other threads propose similair ideas as well.

Plus, you could have it be successful only a certain percent of time. So if you try to inspire communist rebels in Afghanistan playing as Russia, then you have like 50% chance of succeeding. Trying to inspire communist rebels in CSA or France, probably should be like 5% chance, etc. Figures aren't exact but you get my point.

Also, maybe you could make it possible simply to sway ideology. So if you have a country beside yours that's 40% liberal and 60% conservative, maybe you can make help nudge them along towards liberalisation. Or perhaps, if your neighbour countries goes up in arms and wins in a anarcho-liberal revolt, a small fraction of your own people (5-10%) should shift to that ideology, inspired by the success of the new ideas around their nation.

Thanks.

No plans to do that. Our stated design goal was to make being a great power great. So we give an incentive for the secondary powers to make the great push to become a GP. I am personally not sure how many times Podcat will get away with humaliting Hati in his efforts to keep Spain out of the GP ranks and Mexico in it.

Yeah but non GP nations will still be able to break away from the SoI, right?

I am fed up with the Ottomans SoIing Greece all the time.

I do understand its your game, but there must be a way for the non GPs to resist the SoI, right? The AI follows no house rules.
It makes playing as a non GP too limiting. Its not an issue for the likes of Belgium or Mexico that can reach GP status quickly but for the likes of Greece or a German minor....

It works well in my opinion; IMO, according to what I have read about the issue, it seems that the problem is more of SoIs being too destructive to the minor country's economy; for instance, depriving it of access to it's own iron production.

Sorry to ask on this thread, since it was an earlier update, but how exactly will GPs now form alliance blocks? Is there a logic to what countries would ally with whom (based on prestige/infamy/trust/culture/etc.), or is it random?

Good news about the progress but this makes me sad

What about giving nations the choice of choosing to align with a different great power...

Then I could play one off against the other to try and retain my independance - currently playing as a secondary or unciv power I find the diplomacy side of things can be a bit passive.

Keep up the good work

J

I'm saying that "big powerfull nations" have trouble exerting their influence over "small countries". Are you sure you never saw that happen in the real world?
