I wish the "fixes and balancing" happened via QA before the release of Cossacks. I find Cossacks not that fun atm. because I feel like I am not experiencing the game as it should be.

Then they need to either get more people doing QA or make open beta phases, to be able to provide releases that are en-par in matters of quality, especially considering the pricing of the newly released DLCs that I often bought.

I find the tone in your comment to be rude and arrogant btw., which I do not appreciate. There were major flaws in the Release version, even a one-man QA must be able to catch the majority of them. All you had to do to encounter any of them was to play the game for a couple of hours. There were multiple big issues and the lost save games issue was just god-awful.

There were major flaws in the Release version, even a one-man QA must be able to catch the majority of them. All you had to do to encounter any of them was to play the game for a couple of hours.
But that's not all you have to do to encounter them all, and a one-man QA cannot catch all of them. This has been explained many times by the devs on this forum. There was even a dev diary at one point detailing the myriad ways bugs can slip through the system, and the problems they cited--how computer models, OSs, and many other factors affect bugs--apply to all games, not just EU. And when yet another person complains about the same thing without understanding what they're talking about--well, it gets tiresome. You are new here, and your original comment isn't rude at all, but many people came before you who wore away the patience and goodwill that might be extended to such comments otherwise. I can understand your offense, however.

Sure, but I felt there was a lot of stuff that slipped them this time, and I didn't see that happen for the last two DLCs right after the Release. There were obvious graphic glitches (might depend on hardware, as you say), a couple of not so obvious gameplay issues, savegame issues and ZOC super-madness (that still exists). I know this was a relatively large DLC+patch, but all i wished for in my comment was that there had been less problems on start - and I did say that in a very neutral way :) i find it hard to believe that they were not aware of some of the more obvious issues, I think they just ran out of time as is almost always the case in our sector in the weeks before a Release ;D.

The problem with open betas is the number of people who see them as literally nothing but a way to get their hands on the new release a few days early, and act pissy and entitled when the explicitly-labelled beta isn't up to the quality they expect.

I believe one of the QA stated some time ago, when someone was ranting about what they didn´t catch (think it was CK2 actually), "then you should see what we did catch"... I believe it applies here aswell :) while I do find somethings odd that hasn´t been caugth, I don´t suspect them to be able to play it all and catch all prior to release. But at least PDX has dedicated themselves to release a proper product to their knowledge, then actually updating it the next few weeks since release will have MANY players spending MANY hours into it...

As the DD stated, which was mentioned here, the first few hours after release where people spot and post bugs are really helpful since PDX can´t spend the 80.000 hours that players can in the first couple of hours since release. Would anyone rather they spend 80.000 hours before release? and judging by the amount of time it takes to get a stable patch, it´s likely 800.000 hours which would mean cossacks wouldn´t really release until 2017... Something I´m not willing to wait for, when most bugs aren´t gamebreaking and they are likely to be fixed within the first few weeks :)
