So it's still a thing for the AI to amass massive debts within the first few decades of the game. Does Paradox not believe that this is a problem that should have deserved attention?

Working on it. They do it for "good reasons" that end up being bad reasons.

Ok nice to hear that you are working on it. Besides that I have the impression that the AI performs better in 1.14. I've seen some cool things happening like Navarra conquering a chunk of Aragon with the help of France which I believe has happened to the favors (if this mechanic apply to the AI..)
