I can't open a single old savegame, I just get kicked to desktop. Anyone else with this issue?

Ironman cloud saves crash horribly, both the regular ones I have and the funsie Ironman game I started with player boni.
Clicking the save gives the warning that it's from an older version, clicking ok makes EUIV crash. Only log is the rather uninformative:

my locally saved ironman game is caput, people who are managing to load their local saves seem very lucky to me , oh well I just have to decide whether or not to restart in 1.13 or go back to 1.12. year is only 1511 but things all fell so neatly into place and I'm reluctant to give up on such good fortune
EDIT: Was my fault, I had changed the supported version to 1.13 for the few cosmetic/ui mods I was using, one of them was the culprit, now just to narrow down what works and what doesn't, really hope better ui works still.

Ditto. All seems fine to me. But haven't done much ironman in 1.12.
One question: I also only have Ironman cloud saves (I shouldn't really but I never learn). Can I try to see if my save is going to work with the BETA patch and revert if not without breaking the save?
Anyone can try! On a more serious note, I tried out the 1.13 beta, which crashed the game while loading 1.12 saves (before hitting "Play"), so 1.13 doesn't ever get a chance to fiddle with the save it seems. I've reverted to 1.12, and things are just fine again.
Edit: Interesting fact: 1.12 can load saves started in the 1.13 beta.

I experience a CTD as well on loading Ironman local saves from patch 1.12 in the new 1.13 beta patch.
Edit: Reverted to 1.12, then went back to 1.13 beta and could load all my saves without issues and save them as 1.13 ones. No clue what happened the first time.

You did not, but it would be appreciated if it were fixed before the final release. Is there any chance of this?
please fix this before you make this patch live, i started 4 different games am 100 years in but i wont finish them all before u put this patch out, giving only a month to play iron man before you break all saves isn't enough
