I downloaded the patch 1.1 for DoomsDay and the game reads as V1.0 (LADS). Is this correct? I unzipped the file directly into program files/paradox interactive/Doomsday. Is that correct? Thanks.

Hmmm... it's my understanding that there is one patch for the Downloaded version of Doomsday, and a seperate patch for the store-bought Box-copy.

Ahh pooh, lol. Okay, I bought the game online (download). And I used the Paradox site for the 1.1 patch. I'll check the site I bought the game from, but I don't recall seeing a patch. I'll be back.
EDIT... Okay there is no patch at Gamer's Gate. The Gamer's Gate Downloader says this version of the game was released 2006-02-07 so I would say their version does not have the patch.

I tried the 1.1b zip, but that seems to want to write a [savefile]060508115106_dd_1.b\ParadoxInteractive\Doomsday\ai.
This has to be (apparently) extracted into c:\Program Files, and it finds its way to the paradox files to overwrite the DD ai files. Alternately, I suppose, you can extract them into a temporary folder and move the resulting ai files. Using the first method I did not see a version change to 1.1b, but I did see the correct dates (5/1/2006) on the ai files.
I guess this is how it's supposed to work. 1.1b changes the ai files but doesn't register as v 1.1b in the game. Thought you might want to know this, as well as other forum browsers. Thanks again, blue emu.
P.S. v1.0(LADS) is the version you get when you buy the game online from GamersGate and download/install it prepatch.

Just out of interest what are the major changes of the 1.1 patch, is it worth downloading?

Yes, it's a patch that's worth downloading.
One detail is not mentioned in 1.1 patch readme or sticky. It changes leadership experience gaining so that only the leader who is highest in rank will get any experience from a battle. So it is difficult to "train" General Majors and General Lt's after you've installed it.
The patch for the downloaded and boxed versions are the same. if you got a different cheksum you must have not installed it properly.
