I just played a game under v 1.1.0 (ed47); the Unbidden spawned inside the capital system of a militant isolationist fallen empire, and were instantly destroyed. The patch notes in the Clarke release post specifically said this shouldn't happen anymore, but it did. (for reference: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...checksum-ed47-not-for-problem-reports.937741/)

There was also plenty of uncolonized space in other areas of the galaxy; the portal didn't have to spawn in the fallen empire.

Since my general "strategy" is to do everything I can to cause the Unbidden to spawn, and then fight to help them spread, this made that entire game effectively pointless for me. So there's an essentially wasted night, except that it allowed me to identify this problem.

I have attached save games from before and after this if it helps. "2341.12.14 Unbidden.sav" is from when the power surge warning came up, and "2345.10.26 Unbidden Instantly dead.sav" is from some time after they spawned and were instantly destroyed. I've reloaded the first save and the problem happens again, so it should be repeatable/examinable using the first save.

This is my main reason for posting, but I have a few other thoughts/possible bug reports too:

On a different, but related, note: I thought the Unbidden were supposed to spawn inside the empire that caused the crisis trigger. But I've only successfully caused the Unbidden to spawn twice so far (because the Scourge kept showing up at year 120 in 4/6 of my games, and I hadn't been rushing the jump drives fast enough), and both times, I'm fairly sure it was my empire that caused them to spawn (as I rushed both jump drives and they showed up about 20 years after I got the second one), yet they spawned elsewhere. In the first game, they spawned in a tiny patch of empty space around year 110-115 (I got the 2nd drive around year 90), which was halfway across the galaxy from me. In the second game, they spawned around year 125 (i got the 2nd drive around year 105) in the heart of the fallen empire that was near me, though there was a large gap of uninhabited/unclaimed space between me and the fallen empire.

An another different, but related, note: On at least this same version, both with the Scourge and with the Unbidden, after the crisis-related empire is destroyed, they remain in the situation log. Perhaps this is preventing the game from recognizing that the crisis is over, and thereby preventing another cirsis from happening (see my next issue, below). This is at least true whether the scourge spawns and is destroyed before the queen event, if the scourge spawns and the queen event pops but a different empire captures the queen, or if the unbidden spawn but are then destroyed by another empire.

An another different, but related, note: it seems like the game is set to make a second crisis unlikely if not impossible after one has already occurred. Is there a way you can add an option at game creation to disable this feature? Myself and several of my friends find the crises to be some of the most interesting aspects of Stellaris, and we'd like to be able to see more than one of them in a game. As they are currently set up, none of them are actually threats to any of us, at least by themselves and on normal difficulty, so the concern that too many crises would 'overwhelm' the players is either a false concern for us or, at the very least, wouldn't be something we would consider a bad thing. Sometimes we should lose.
