If I correctly remember this was like that in one beta patch but there was the huge problem that this lead to very many stuck wars. If there would be added an "automatic peace after 10 years with no battles and sieges" rule it perhaps would be ok. Though this is not "fair" for AI overlords it betters the game play: I don't want to see Byzantine Empire still alive in 1819 after 400 years of war with Tuscany and Duchy of Athens once again.

If I correctly remember, this was buggy in this beta patch because in soloplayer, the vassal was sometimes the leader of the war... (and so, his master must make separate peace to make the global peace option avaible for it's vassal).

Now that we use the sames rules in SP and in MP of "Alliance leader is always leader of the war", it'll be ok (except if the vassal can create it's proper alliance with it's master, but i'm not sure that the AI use this diplomatic option as a vassal).

If this rule is expanded to all vassal, it will help to slow down a little major AI expansions...

A little clarification, if you don't mind:

- You now get manpower bonus from your vassals. Up to 50% of their manpower depending of how decentralized you are.

So, Decentralized is on the good end of this?

- You now only gain benefit from vassals with the capital on the same continent as yourself.

As Byzantium, how far east would this stretch? Just the mercenary provinces, or is everything across the Bosphorus of little value as a vassal? I assume that direct land connections wouldn't affect this, would it?

Asia starts with Azerbaijan-Syria-Lebanon and Kurgan-Irgiz-Alga. Everything West of those is Europe.

I am d/ling the patch at the moment.

But they SHOULD be in the RandomLeader.csv file in the leader folder. They are leader names not actual leaders.

The list of names were erroneaously placed in the wrong randomleader file (the one in the DB folder) in the Betapatch.

Hopefully this has been fixed. If not go to the end of the file in the DB folder, copy them and paste them in the right file in the Leader folder.

Ayeshteni

unfortunately that Bug hasnt been fixed. The 30 Helvetian randomleader names have been included in the wrong file.... again.

copy and paste these into the randomleader file in the DB/LEADERS folder (not in the DB folder)

I've started to play 1.09 this weekend, and I agree that there've been less annexations in the HRE (except by me, but I'm playing Austria, so it's usual). The leadership of wars is a great tool, I see much less conquests of provinces going on by the AI. Burgundy, notably, has been less murderous to the neighbouring minor countries. And the Balkans and russian plains are less messy than usual.

Olaus Petrus said:
This claims that it only works with vassals to human players. Does it also prevent you annexing vassal to AI country? I haven't played new patch a lot so haven't test the new feature yet.
No, it doesn't.

I (playing Portugal) have found a CtD all the time when I ask Aragon, if I can join there alliance(as far as I know, the answer would be yes), the CtD seems to be reproducable. Besides that, the new patch is great :) Portuguese Empire 1460 including all of middle america is sooo fun, monthly income over 100 :)
